I love that people keep saying that this has the whole 1st half of the story. Nessa’s back was in this, I didn’t see boq, they used the extended “trailer edition” of the same track played in the original trailer, and added TWO LINES from one of Ariana’s songs. There is going to be quite a bit added to both films, from the book. Some things don’t copy over to a film, and those same things (while minor) do play a domino effect role. When these films were budgeted, they were budgeted as TWO FILMS. They were also recorded together, and are both complete. This is a 320 million dollar masterpiece. So many people have said “They used too much CGI” and “It makes it look unrealistic”- Those people would be right, if the weren’t so,so wrong. Every single thing you see, was built. Shiz university and the water approaching it- built, not just the facade, inside were the classrooms and their dorm, the Oz Dust Ballroom, and the offices. The Emerald City- Everything was built from that large gold gate to the very real, actually functional wizard head. The train station, built. THE ACTUAL TRAIN, BUILT AND TOWED. They towed it through a giant field of 9 million Tulips, that guess what, they planted for this film. They also built munchkin land (twice actually- due to the strike 😂), there houses there the yellow brick road, and beautiful hills that they built using wood and planted flowers on. They used CGI on the monkeys, the smoke around the train, the goat, the one scene of elphie flying that is used in this trailer, filling in the very far away backgrounds, and then removing cables and cords from shots. Everything else was practical. Nessa was actually in the air, those objects were on strings pulled into the air. He wanted to make this show feel like you were seeing it on Broadway. Nobody, nobody is ready for this film.
@@joshuacoldwater could not agree more. But also there’s a lot of Ari Stan’s not ready for the fact Galindo is a fascist sympathiser (most. Impelling arc in the show imo). Also, looking at you, Elphie’s mum, girl, I… I get it lol.
I think people get confused when they hear musical, and they automatically picture Les Misrables in their mind. This is a beautiful film about Elphaba and Glinda and when particular moments occur, there is music that works into those moments.
keep in mind, this is the trailer for PART 1...so it's the first act of the musical...almost meant to leave you on a cliff hanger. But the story of act 1 is enough to be to a stand alone movie. THe film adaptation of the musical have been LONG awaited...for 15yrs...highly anticipated doesn't even describe it...releasing a longer trailer almost seems like a gift to the Wicked fans.
So actually Elphaba doesn’t fully embrace being villainized until the song “No Good Deed” in the second act. And gives their perspective of Dorthy’s visit in the second act.
This movie and this trailer was made specifically for the fans. We needed confirmation that EVERYTHING from the stage show is gonna be included in the first movie and that's exactly what we got.
I don't think that the Trailer is too long. The movie is probably 150 mins long so 3 minutes are nothing. In addition: the most people know the story already
Ah yes…another one of these comments. People will complain if you talk during it. People will complain if you don’t talk during it. Let the RU-vidr react they way they want to react. You don’t like it? Don’t watch then. Also, go look at the About tab and see how long they have been RU-vidrs. This account has been active since 2018…we’re not new at this. This is how we want to run our channel.
