13 years ago I had to write a paper on a Canadian Artist, while all my other classmates were choosing more popular artists I chose to write about Buck 65 and played Wicked and Weird for everyone. A few years later Richard Terfry played at a local folk festival and I was so starstruck I couldn't even speak when I asked for his signature. ♥️
When I went to study in Canada two decades ago none of the Canadian students I talked to had heard of him, or cared about hiphop in general (they were all into indie folk music). He seems more "famous" now that he has a radio show.
It always amazes me that Buck 65 never took off. I can remember the first time I saw this music video, jaw on the floor, as I had witnessed music that actually spoke to me.
Saw him live years ago. While waiting for the show to start, we see a guy come on stage, checking the equipment. The audience and myself were clueless that it was Buck 65. Only when he started did people realize and crowded the stage. Was the best one man show I ever witnessed.
Soooo jealous been listening to Buck since 2006 when I went to lollapalooza, he wasn't there but I learned of a lot of new bands that year. Man does he resonate all his complex thought provoking lyrics.
It is really hard for a Canadian to crack the border . Celine Dione , Justin Beiber , Gord Lightfoot , Ann Murray ,no probs ...April Wine , Sam Roberts , Sloan , New Meanies , The Hip . Marketing is a strategy we can't ALL crack .
WEIRD i had to move to Vancouver from NovaScotia to be introduced to BUCK65...i was literally 20 min drive from his house in mt Uniacke...Novascotia,then i move back east n meet the guy because a couple mutual friends...Wicked n weird..
I finally understand why my Dad used to play this song, It fits his life so perfectly Him and my mother never really got along very well, But they tried to make it work for along time. Listening too it now, I realize all the times he spent on the road and out of our house It was never because I was a terrible daughter, Just how it had to be for my parents to keep things together and not lose face infront of their kids. Especially one who had alot of demons they needed to fight in order to grow and find out which road they need to take, Scary how much I take after both of them now, Almost makes me smile -H

Buck 65 You're truly Inspiring, you among some other greats shaped my mold in so many ways. Changed the way I look at things and not to mention your sick beautiful beats that to this day I can't get out of my head. I'm stunned there's not more likes on here but keep you underground like it was in the old days, though I feel the whole world should know you! Peace
I first heard this song when he sang it live on the Mike Bullard show and was lucky enough to find a recording of it. Still my favourite version, and it made it on most of my mixtapes from back then. Its amazing how it was years until I saw the video, but its so descriptive I never needed to.
I didn't record it myself (found on Napster or Morpheus or something), and even if I did manage to record the live show, all of my vhs tapes got ruined in a flood years ago. It's just crazy how discriptive and flowing this song is. Really wish I could find where I saved that audio file.
Wow it's 2021 and this is the first time I've seen this video, nor even heard of this musical edit. Back in the days of MySpace, Buck65 was on my friends list, and I had this song playing as my page theme. Chatted on the forums with him a few times, cool guy. I came here looking to listen to his original (pre-video) recording. This is a little smoother, but I have to say his gravelly vocal style went better with the original arrangement. I'm gonna keep looking for the original, but I enjoyed this! Thanks for posting!

in like.. grade 7 or something, a friend got the juno cd that this is on for his birthday. we def recited this to eachother but the artist never took off.
first the horrible quality had me side-eyeing, but when they censored the word "piss" i just had to stop. i love this song. this video is a disservice to Buck's talent

I just read a review for Bike For Three! A duo that consists of Buck 65 and some chick. They praised the hell out of Buck 65 in the review and now that I hear him, I have no clue as to why. This dude is horrible, complete shit.
