Bad ass tree huggers are welcome to come enjoy the show. For all those tards that think the black soot is horrible going into the atmosphere, it's heavy and drops to the ground like ash doesn't go floating around clogging up people's lungs
Somebody has to remind those tree huggers that their favorite companies are all dumping chemicals in the air and water 24/7 and no one cares 🤷🏻 Much easier to blame it on the diesel cars.
Dont woorie little friend. You just need to buy an farm, grow some tree and you can solve your own polution. Make a better planet, but there are other worse things than this diesel
To enjoy the show you first have to be able to see it and it's hard to see when there's so much smoke from the diesels racing, and to all the tards who are only thinking about the black soot non effects on the atmosphere tells me you they dont know it's effects on breathing it. Short term exposure effects eyes nose throat and lungs and can cause headaches and nausea. Long term effects can cause asthma, bronchitis and even heart disease. I've been around semi diesel trucks since I was able to walk, my dad had a trucking business and repair shop. I eventually became a certified diesel mechanic. Always had good health with diet and exercise. When I turned 28 I was diagnosed with heart disease meaning high blood pressure and started having bouts with bronchitis and headaches, but I still love diesel trucks.
@@nick9463 Jesus Christ. All about diesel ffs what about preto gasolina gasoline...? Petrol doesnt polute? Why dont u da to China to close coal mines, Eua to lower the cc for engine!?? Here in Europe we dont have v6 or v8 like murica, and we have same or even more power than Eua. Why Eua left Paris agremment. Stop and think, this drag racing is bad but isnt the hole problem
This is cool regardless of anything anyone says. Someone took the time to build that instead of watching TV I'm a big fan of it. Pretty interesting. Much respect.
So, how, at the moment of launch, with 3000 horses strapped to your back, do you keep from sh@#&ing yourself? Thats gotta be one hell of a rush. With three ginormous turbos singing together, you can barely hear the diesel. Just insane!
now triple that with a little more and you have a top fuel drag rail, pushing from as little as 8'000 up to as much as 11'000 horsepower. Though it might only be less than four seconds of rush but it would be worth every bit.
I'd love to have this build up in our fire engine. But could we go faster than 25 up hill? Related thought... Drag racing would be more impressive if it was up hill
Just noticed the class designation on the sides of the rear spoiler. TD ( Top Dragster ). Do these guys really run this beast against the more conventional nitrous or boosted gasoline engine dragsters in that class or do they compete at mainly diesel drag events?
I hear all this talk about pollution and how switching to electric is going to help...You know how much pollution a factory that makes batteries puts off. As well as one that recycles batteries. Out of sight out of mind I guess but If you want to continue to live your comfortable life style then pollution will continue to be a by product.
We had a fire recently in nearby Morris Illinois south of Chicago, where electric batteries were stored and caught on fire. Was declared a disaster zone as it dumped toxic fumes into the air and fire is impossible to put out for hours upon hours. Nobody talks about the disposal of old batteries and not to mention the destruction that goes on mining the elements they are made of.
@@RACEYOURRIDE Plenty of people talk about, they won't be heard is the problem. I bitch about the whole recycling scam always. Someone has yet to explain to me how now having 3 trucks instead of 1 on trash day is an improvement.
They were talking about when you were in the pits and the crew was warming up the car. Maybe an angle at the front of the car. It would be cool to see finish line shots of something like this, or anything else really. No one ever does finish line shots. All they ever do is just stand at the starting line and then go to the next clip before showing times and MPH.
While I’m not a fan of all that black smoke (partially burnt fuel)... I think this dragster is still cool. Would love to see it in person one day. Also, yikes... driver almost lost control at the end (3:00)!
Are you sure it's an International engine? The guy had to dump most of a can oof either into it on a summer day just to get it to start and stay running, which strongly implies it's just a stock John Deere engine. 😋
With a diesel you don't have to worry about that because diesels are direct injected, so you just set the injector timing to inject the fuel at the point you want it to ignite at.
@@RACEYOURRIDE news.berkeley.edu/2012/10/22/diesel-vs-gas-contributing-to-smog/ It does if it is a modern off the lot consumer diesel car or truck but that's because it has loads of systems that filter the exhaust, unlike this hunk of drag racing sadness 🤣
Dt 466 is an older engine. Cant tune it much by pcm and shit like the new ones. The smoke is fine cuase it takes a massive amount of fuel to spool 3 turbos. The cummins 5.9, 7.3 powerstrokes and others take huge fuel, massive turbos and very little tuning to make power. Why they upgraded them because of emissions. Most newbies to diesels get the banks crap, then ditch it once they start to actually modify their diesel.
I love it!!! but I was told black smoke means high egts. in my 725hp e model cat it burns clean and egts never get over 750* post turbo with the big hp diesels please explain the black smoke high egts and unburnt fuel. I really want to know not being a dick
I know it's hard work to look stuff up on the internet, but I'll save you some hard work. Gale Banks is the authority on turbo diesels. Only aftermarket supplier that doesn't void any factory warranties. Plus, you wont see any black stuff coming out the exhaust of any rigs running his products.
@@JOutterbridge I get all that but why not just add timing take the fuel away and keep heat out the combustion? some guys say the extra fuel helps cool combustion at some point but I just don't see it. but all the high hp guys has smoke 🚬!!!! so I guess they know something more than us keyboard guys lol I really would like to see some data on the manifold temp with a lean mix vs a rich mixture!!! I had a c16 turbo on mine egts would get 1100 1200 put the 80mm borg on and dropped egts 300* with the same amount fuel. more air less heat 100more ponnies. water injection HELPED me ALOT TOO I'm sure these guys got 16 nozzles lol
well it aint another cummins cline but international/case IH partnered with cummins to produce 5.9 and 8.3 series of engines which china currently produces cos cummins dont want to anymore
A 3,000 hp non diesel will run a much faster time more consistently. Diesel has potential, but not as much as everyone was pushing for 10-15 years ago. I’ll take a methanol hemi over this Cummins any day of the week. Probably costs less too. Still super cool and fun to watch, but it hasn’t caught on and probably won’t.
I mean its cool and i like the sound of the turbos and I dont give a crap about the smoke....but that's slow compared to other to fuel set ups. Don't you spend that kinda of money to WIN?
Pretty sure its to promote their turbos and they have ran low 6's. Considering the weight of the 1900lb engine compared to say top fuel dragsters its apples n oranges
@@RACEYOURRIDE it's apples to oranges only that its heavy and diesel. If they want to race they have to line up against the oranges and then they don't win much. And losing by over 2 seconds in a quarter mile is not just losing, its getting crushed.
@@jonathanalexander1913 Considering a top fuel dragster has around 10,000+ hp and weighs as much as just the engine in the 3,000 hp diesel dragster I'd say it's apples to oranges. No comparison at all and the top fuel dragsters have to tear down and refresh everything after every run not so with this dragster. Let's not even get into the cost difference between the two.
I will always love to hate diesel shit that think it's fast. Take that shit back to the tractor pull it ain't fast. A good tube chassis race car with a gasser will run these numbers and it don't need a rail car to do it. Not to mention that motor is high strung tri turbo setup that takes 5 mins to get into boost just no on soany levels
When your putting out 3000 hp in a virtually same design and sized Diesel engine that makes 300 hp from the factory there’s no avoiding smoke. You can reduce it as much as possible but there is always gonna be smoke.
Definitely running bad. Black smoke in a diesel means you need to get her tuned better. Just ask the authority, Gale Banks. Sad to still see such ignorant diesel owners in 2021.
It sounds like a tractor because it’s a tractor/school bus engine, the 466 was not a very efficient engine to begin with hence why it is now an obsolete engine for road vehicles( can’t keep up with the emissions) it’s making 10 times the amount of power it started life with it’s going to smoke, it takes a lot of exhaust to light those turbos up. Also that “waste” of money just went a quarter mile in 6 secs, seems like their goals were accomplished.
