It's amazing how names that were once so familiar just disappear and when you are reminded of them the memories they bring back. It's ages since I have thought of Sealink. I went on a school trip using Sealink. The school took a group of us, by train, from just south of Watford to Innsbruck and then Rimini. Whatever they paid those teachers wasn't nearly enough, but I had great fun traversing the French, Swiss, Austrian and Italian railways. Lovely relaxing time spent watching Wickford again this morning. Stephen

Space Cat and I were unfamiliar with the Class 31 but we are now in agreement that it is a stately and dignified machine, not too modern, nor too old, not too fancy, nor too plain. It is a locomotive about which there is no question. A locomotive which is simply about its business, with no concern for fancy trappings, frills or unnecessary ornamental fittings. A locomotive consistent with the earnest ethic of the Industrious Leprechauns who made the Wickford what it is today. The final musical piece launched Space Cat into a fit of interpretive dance! Beautiful video my friend! But we were both a bit embarrassed by the shortness of the shorts of the Wickford footballers...I assured Space Cat that they are ergonomically designed for maximum flexibility. And we are happy that the Merry Berry will flow freely regardless of the result of the Polish visit. Best wishes and thoughts from this side of the great pond my friend :)

The subbuteo players brought back some memories I painted up many international teams back in the early 80s whereby we played euro and world cups with brothers and my dad! Hi Paul, really enjoyed seeing your collection of class 31’s running around Wickford. I particularly liked the rake of of Railfreight wagons and the Sealink coaches. I see in my minds eye a 31 pulling a rake of 5 or 6 mk1’s across country to Exehaven, just gently trundling along for about 4 hours stopping at small towns on it’s journey and of course with a rake of wagons down to the harbour. One day, one day, I keep telling myself…. Loved the music I think🤔🤣 another lovely video Paul and at least the football is done now which might leave more cabin time, oh wait a minute The Open is on this week🏌🏻♂🙄, poor Mrs Exehaven just when she thought it was safe watching television again!😂 Cheers Paul, John

Morning Paul - an excellent choice of motive power this morning. 31's look good in virtually any livery disguise. Glad to say your final piece of background music must have been picked just to annoy our national treasure 😅. That said he may not have heard it properly as his ears haven't "popped" yet following his excursion north of the border. I understand the pretend Scotsman is now lying down in a darkened room recovering😅. These piddle folk just get everywhere 😂.

Hi Paul, the 31 is a good loco but overshadowed by the 37. I nearly picked up some of the Sealink coaches but were hard to come by, so gave up. Wish I had a rake now, they look excellent like the Railfreight rake of wagons. Best wishes from The Piddle Folk in Somersex.
