The Wicklow Way - Marlay Park to Knockree - the first of six video section guides to Ireland's BEST walking trail!
The Wicklow Way is about 130km long and traverses the eastern flanks of the Wicklow Mountains from Marlay Park in Dublin, to Clonegal in County Carlow. The Wicklow Way is one of the most popular walks in Ireland, and is usually split into 6 sections. There are a variety of accommodation providers along the way, and many walkers spend from one to seven days along this fantastic trail. Discover some amazing sceneries including Powerscourt Waterfall, Lough Tay (the Guinness Lake) or Glendalough.
Wicklow's Rural Recreation Officer is producing video guides to the full route, in six sections. This has been funded by the Outdoor Recreation Infrastructure Scheme.
The Wicklow Way is managed by a team representing the landowners along the route; Coillte, National Parks and Wildlife Service, private landowners, the Dublin Mountains Partnership, Wicklow County Council and Mountain Meitheal, the volunteer trail management group.
These guides have been created by the Rural Recreation Officer and local production company Videos On The Net and funded by the Department of Rural and Community Development and Wicklow County Council under the Outdoor Recreation Infrastructure Scheme.
