Back at it fishing in the San Francisco Bay targeting the California Halibut. After a slower start we made one move and found tons of halibut that wanted to fill there belly's with anchovies and herring on the troll.

One more classy thing is that you are not dropping “f-bombs” throughout your videos, Chris. You’ve got a down-to-earth yet professional approach. People who fish with you on your boat are very fortunate.

Hey Chris, good to see another video. It’s been a little while. Anyway, I have a question. Can you please tell us where you are motoring to. With these gas prices, it would be a huge help for everyone. I know it’s like a secret to fishermen on where the bight is but, those days are over. Let’s all catch-‘em By the way, this is Ken the guy with the horns blasting at Angle Island last year. I saw you at the ramp that morning also in San Rafael.
@ChrisPfish2
@ChrisPfish2 2 года назад
Hi Ken, follow fisherman/charters on instagram. Lots of them post pictures. If you have spent enough time on the bay you should be able to have a good idea on location from that. Also networking, make friends who fish, you share a hot spot, they should as well. There is no secret recipe to save gas, I waste it too looking for fish. Thanks for watching

@ChrisPfish2

@michaelrausch6950

so did it seem like the bite was +/- 90 minutes with the tide or was it more just finding the spot
@ChrisPfish2
@ChrisPfish2 2 года назад
First fish was top of the tide. Then about a hour went by until we moved closer in, then all the action came. So it was 1-3 hours after the top of the tide. I dont know if it was the spot or if the bite just turned on. Probably a combo. In my opinion you want to be out there 2 hours before and after the top of the tide. That 4 hour window should be the best, you probably know this but you always want small tide swings, not the big ones. Thanks for watching and all the support!

up here on vancouver island halibut the size youre catching there we have those as well (little halis) we use them for bait lol kidding. down in california do you have any banks off shore 200'-400' deep if yes thats where you will find the true legends fish the slope (drop off) not on top of the bank you will have some monsters for sure.

@@Dave.T. yah they have done that to us in Canada were only aloud 1 a day now and they have size limit pretty much anything over 45-50 pounds have to be released it hurts fighting 100-150 pound halibut and u have to let it go. we get the odd halibut shallow but nothing like you down there when i say shallow im talking 100 feet, You guys getting them in 10' of water is crazy wanna have fun bring a fly rod out that would be fun with those little guys lol.
