interesting but What about insert it on an other bus than your parralle comp one ? just to have more control of the "ADT wet" effect to blen and have the oppurtunity to smash more your parralel track with a faster comp than the LA2A. What do you think ? Thanks for sharing your tip BTW
Hey! I wanted to ask about your vocal chain, specifically the CLA-2A into the CLA-76. What benefits do you find using them in that specific order (CLA-2A first into the CLA-76)? Have you tried the CLA-76 into the CLA-2A? Also, how do you set the two compressors up? Usually when I use those two plugins together, I go CLA-76 into the CLA-2A and I'll set the CLA-76 with a 12:1 ratio with a fast-ish attack and release and use it to basically tame peaks, then I'll set the CLA-2A like I would as if it was my only compressor in the chain. I usually find that this setup allows for really upfront and clear vocals. Thanks for your time!
Hi! I usually use the 2A in front because I usually use a hardware 1176 which is obviously always after the plugin. I‘m just taming the transients a little with the 2A and then do the heavy compression with the 1176. But of course your setup sounds also interesting - worth a try!
I did only film stuff & voice-overs so far with it, but here's a mix contest I participated - completely mixed with the Soundcraft: www.puremix.net/zelab-mixing-contest/mixing-contest-al-schmitt-cyrille-aimee.html?mixId=HnuRtiCcDstCMNAkuaZBcMdLTmohaNbCiqJsNe6Kgg0%3D Scroll down to the "MartyZ" Mix.
I listened w headphones and really didn’t hear a difference. Too a point where I wonder, what’s the point if you really can’t hear a difference than why use it? Just to say you did? I mean I noticed an overall difference in the vocals in that section than the verses but when you turned ADT on or off, I couldn’t tell the difference. The vocals in that highlighted area even without ADT was totally different than vocals during verse.
