All Night - is one of the most mature love songs you'll ever hear. It's neither the beginning nor the end of love like most songs but a choice to continue loving, through forgiveness and compromise. That's often not as sexy as "we just met" or "it's over". To say that "I know you and I still love you" is humbling. This may be my favorite of all her songs. It's grown up.

I definitely recommend watching the Lemonade movie, which illustrates exactly what you noticed: all the emotional stages a person goes through in a situation like this. It also contains a lot of social, racial and political references, so basically the album is not really just about her relationship with her husband. 6 inch heels is about Beyonce throwing herself into her work since her personal life is a wreck. She actually went on tour and named it the Mrs. Carter world tour at one point. This was the most vocal she had ever been about claiming her relationship publicly. We all suspect this was the time she was dealing with these personal issues. This was a world tour that she started with NO new music. She released the Beyonce-self named album halfway through the tour. I take it that she had to get away and lost herself in her work....I think they were likely working through all the issues that she reflects on this album during that time. She was super thin when that "beyonce" album came out and in hindsight, it definitely looks like she was going through something. On jay-z 4:44, he does mention having to "change the weather" and move across the country to LA for him to get her back...ie he had to change and acquiesce to the life she wanted to peruse if he wanted to be apart of her life.

Daddy Lessons made me cry a little as if I just heard it for the first time cause of your wife’s reaction. What’s known of Beyoncé relationship with her dad is both messy and beautiful. Helping her career since childhood grow as he became her manager to his breaking up with her professionally and detailed distance alongside his divorce with Beyoncé’s mom because of infidelity as well. A generational curse Beyoncé reflects on that she is determine to break in her own family.
@Taewills

Right?!? Same. It’s my fav song on this album but the older I get the more I appreciate ppl expressing their vulnerability and crying. It’s contagious now (thanks to therapy) and Beyoncé’s complicated relationship with her father is super relatable. Also, the jazzy soul of the song is very Louisiana styled which is a traditionally AA styled country

31:25 “it’s a crazy annotation” lol but it’s all true you just had to be there in that moment. With the whole elevator fight and the release of this album. It’s a well known saying that the world got 3 good albums out of the elevator fight: Beyoncé Lemonade, Jay Z 4:44, & Solange(Bey’s sister) A Seat At the Table. And till this very day nobody but the 4 that was on that elevator knows what the fight was really about, that’s how private they are. We only have context clues, speculations, and even conspiracy theories about the infamous elevator fight. 😂

throughout the whole entire film that she made for this album it’s not only about infidelity, but it’s also about her culture and all the beautiful parts about being a black woman, it’s almost like the infidelity made her do some deep searching in her soul and in her roots, she includes A LOT of imagery of all these black women around her like a huge family, she also includes a poem for every single song on the album in the film, which are ABSOLUTELY insanely beautiful written poems, and yes, the chapters in the film were exactly in order of the stages of grief, but she throws a small spin on it Pray you catch me - Intuition Hold up - Denial Don’t hurt yourself - Anger Sorry - Apathy 6 inch - Emptiness Daddy lessons - Accountability Love drought - Loss Sand castles - Forgiveness Forward - Resurrection All night - Redemption Formation - Reformation

He's said many times that he doesn't really like standard pop or R&B music, especially if the content isn't lyrically dense. Lemonade changed the way I consume albums. I now know how crucial it is to consume albums as the artist puts it out. In the sense that if they make a small trailer/film then release a single watch that trailer/film first etc. Lemonade is so much more then the cheating that went on. The art that she made and displayed the visuals they all tell a story. I am so glad I watched the entire film when it came out. It gave me a deep understanding about how she and JAY-Z came out on the Otherside. How she healed and her as a person. - Lemonade visuals - Lemonade poems from Warshan Shire - Lemonade album Truly album of the year is my book! I haven’t experienced anything like Lemonade. And everything that Beyoncé has put out since then has been up to par or even better and never the same. I’m such a fan I know… But we all should be this woman is mindblowing! 🫶🏾🥰👏🏾

I appreciated this. Hearing their takes on the art just make me want to experience *Lemonade* again. I love the observation that each track can stand alone and has an individual sound. But when you listen to the full album, an entire story is being told threaded together by the songs. Beautiful concept album.

And I just want to say how much I appreciate this reaction! Having your wife here was so smart and great insight! Having a female perspective for this album is crucial! And why did your wife and I have the same reaction to daddy’s lesson. It hit so deep for me too. Keep up the good work ❤

I will never forget the experience of hearing don’t hurt yourself for the first time. It was just insane to hear her so directly address everything he had done to her when she had been silent for their whole marriage. So out of character and just incredible and empowering to watch unfold.

It's probably my favorite review of an album so far. I really enjoy the critical sense that comes with the maturity of both you. Your visions are interesting and both bring some new perspectives. Since this album was designed as a visual one, the film is actually an important part of it's artistry and bring a depth to the lyrics that I'm pretty sure you'd really like.

Beyoncé is known to be extremely humble to the point where surprises those who meet her because they expect a diva. Her ability to be so private and keep a circle of people that she can trust is a testament to her humility.

While I have never seen you react on your own, your wife and you play off of each other SO well. One person has some insight the other had not thought of, the other then spins it into another direction. And it's not "This is my view and I am right" but "Oh, I like that, I had not thought about it from that angle". I don't even need to see you on your own (which I am sure is great as well) to know that you guys are better together. Amazing video!

I’m so glad you guys enjoyed it. Bey is such a down to earth person and people ALWAYS assume she’s super snobby etc, but she’s very humble despite her money. Huge on respect and love. Thank you for giving her a listen, super surprised to see y’all do this. And btw Blue is her daughter’s name, and she also has a set of twins named Rumi (a girl) and Sir (a boy) born the year after lemonade dropped.

I appreciate the wife's comment on the cello. Instrument's communicate a different emotion in each person. Saxophones can be soulful but can also be flighty and mischievous. My son played double bass which can be very mournful. But underestimated cello's are modest tone setters which I love to seek out and appreciate.

This is the first time I have EVER watched an entire reaction video to any musical album. I love how you both offered your own thoughtful perspectives while alao leaving room for where your ideas didn’t quite align. I also loved when Bob said "It's about the appreciation of the art, not whether or not you like the art." What is also really interesting is seeing people outside of the Black /African American community dissect things that would be very obvious to us but maybe not so much (or at all ) to you. This is what art is all about. Connection and expansion. A lot of this album was about Jay and Bey's relationship, but so much of it was also about existing and overcoming as a Black Woman. This album is an ode to the culture of Black Womanhood, and our people, and what we face, endure, and overcome as we navigate life. I really ejoyed watching this ans you have a new subscriber @bobthepoppop
