I reflect on my return to the Philippines and share some thoughts on the anniversary of the devastating Typhoon Odette. Will Chrissy and Dale be happy I come home?
Very happy I found your channel because of your visit to Vietnam with Bald and Bankrupt. Will certainly be a regular viewer to your channel. I am very interested in the Philippines and look forward to finding out more about it as well as your decision to settle there. Blessings and a Very Happy/Merry Christmas and New Year. As I saw your other Vlogs. Where are your from in the US, your service in the US Army, going to the Philippines, how you met your wife *if married), how you ear moneyed such. You certainly are talented and an excellent Volger. Again Blessings, A Very Happy, Merry Christman and of course, A Very Happy New Year.
Here is the Link to the Typhoon Video, which was posted 1 year ago today. Thank you on behalf of those in our community who were assisted by your generosity. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Vnz6MUVzENg.html
Maybe you guys can consider slowly clearing out all of the rocks, branches, and debris from your beach front so it looks less crowded, more open, easier to walk through, you can play in, could set up a volleyball net, and etc.
i am an american never visited the Phils but that typhoon broke my heart seeing the videos and the destruction...one thing i learned is the Filipino people are very helpful to each other and very resilient
I currently live here in the Philippines, Cebu metro area. I’m from the US also. Typhoon season is every year. Filipinos are used to typhoons. Super typhoons are not that common but when the do hit they are very destructive. I was in Cebu during bagyong odette…..Things were back to normal within 1 month. I took a lot of cellphone footage of the aftermath math
Just getting into your videos now, from catching you with backpacker Ben and Bald. You’ve got a good vibe going on the channel. Good to see another infantryman, enjoying the Philippines. Also, I’m happy to see you watch the more truthful news… 😉. Keep pumping out the videos! I’m happy to keep watching. My wife and I have been planning a motorbike trip through Vietnam, but Covid put a stop to it. Maybe this year we can do it. Ever think about you and Chrissy walking the Camino de Santiago? That would give a lot of material… I try to do one a year (helps with mental health). It’s a very inexpensive, and fun vacation.
Tim your living the dream, how lucky are you beautiful family. Beautiful home, beautiful lifestyle, I'm a huge fan. I'm catching up I'm seeing you been through a difficult time. ( as I have missed some of your posts) but you preserved. You made it and everyone is ok that's the beautiful thing. God bless you and your beautiful family.
@@TimKyoutube of course life has its peaks and valleys and we see the best parts. ( natrually) I support you and your family in good and hard times. Have a merry merry chritmas happy new years. Isn't it so much different with a child around? Lol it's like being a kid all over again.
Hey Tim glad to see you back in Your surroundings. The family looks good and you look very happy. I did enjoy your VN trip, it looks a lot different from when I was there. But to tell you the truth I enjoy your you and Tin videos. I am one of your older American subs. I was almost in your shoes if things had gone a little differently. The Philippines has always been my second home. God Bless you and yours and as always God Bless the Philippines. Merry Christmas
Of course they want you back! I can tell Chrissy was waiting for you. That kind of waiting when you your loved one is on the way and you keep looking out for them. Happy Holidays to you and to your family.
Loved your Vietnam videos. It was even fun for me. You really made us feel a part of the vacation. I have no doubts of your integrity, you provided good info last year on the typhon. Your a good man don't dought yourself and don't listen to those that do.
Man that was a real video. That was the most vulnerable I've seen you. You are a good man. But you don't need me to tell you that. I pray your channel doubles this year.
Tim you've come long way. You have a wonderful family, wife who most guys can only wish for!....and Dale beautiful little boy! Who wears me out just watching your vlog! I have to take a nap after watching your vlog! Ha ha! Your blessed my friend! Best regards! Brian
WOW must feel great to be back in the Phil. ! I love the view of the back of your house. I lived just outside Ormoc . Wife and I completely rebuilt the family house from typhoon damage over the past 10 years, just a way of life in paradise! Merry Christmas to you and your family.
It's one thing to tell your story, and another thing to highlight tragedy for a profit. You clearly have only told. your story while we saw others clearly try to profit off the tragic situations that arise in the Philippines. You have demonstrated an excellent moral compass for years.. Put those disparaging comments in the brown round file and stay the course. Totally appreciate your story telling and courage to be so open. Merry Christmas Jeff
I sent you a reply the other day about my dad in the 1st Air cav,and you replied instantly. It meant alot to me and my dad.Never have I been responded that quick.Your real man and got 2 more fans for life.Thank you.May God be with you on your journey, bro.
I have a big place in my heart for Vietnam Vets. Heard many stories Fom them in closed groups at the VA if you know what I mean. Merry Christmas to you and your dad Ryan.
Tim I have to say thanks to you I started watching your channel when Odette happened just to find out how things were because I had no way to talk to my fiancé she lost power for 5 months in Malitbog and since then there has been some great videos, topping it off has to be the Vietnam trip. Looks like I will be back there in Jan.or early Feb. thanks to Congressman Neal of Mass. who has straightened out our immigration issue so looks like another visit to the embassy after over 3 years of the visa process.
Hi Tim! Glad you got back home safely. I watched all the Vietnam videos and they were really fun and nicely spiced up with some history. I've got a question for you: do you have poisonous snakes in Southern Leyte, and if so, where do they live? In forests or fields? And do they ever enter people's yards? You have an absolutely adorable family & home and it seems that Dale is getting cuter and cuter day by day 💜 All the best to you and your lovely family 💕 Greetings from Las Palmas, Gran Canaria (yeah, I also live on an island where the climate is really pleasant all year round, never too hot or cold). Cariňosamente, Marisol 👋
Thanks Marisol, for the awesome support and question. I dont know much about snakes here. I havent seen them myself, but they vary I think island to island. Also one side of an island can have a very different ecology as well. Thanks for asking! :)
Snakes are all over the Philippines. They live in forests and fields. But they rarely invade people’s homes. On rare occasions, they do. I’ve been to Las Palmas. Beautiful place. But expensive as it is an island.
@@tonyp2601 Yes, I know there are snakes in the Philippines, I was mainly interested in what is the situation with them in Southern Leyte. Las Palmas is actually not as expensive as you may think. If you hang out just in tourist areas like Canteras, you will definitely pay extra for everything, but those of us who live here know certain shops and market halls where it's more affordable, plus the fact that taxation in the Canary Islands is much lower than in the main land, Spain. I'm not originally from here, I was born in Maracaibo, South America Thou I'm only half a Latina girl as my mother is European, from Finland to be precise.
You are amazing Tim. You did great. I had a bad time in Mid-January 2020. I got sick in Malaysia and returned home, was bedridden for a month. Pre-Covid times (At-least in Malaysia) but not sure if I got it when I was there. Love your videos. Keep making more.
Chrissy 😂 ice cold ice cold .. I’m sure she’s happy to have you back but I’m also sure she enjoys her time alone 😅 great videos in Vietnam I watched them all . Baldi and Ben the backpacker videos were awesome too of course :). Cheers from San Francisco California
I was in Tacloban just after Yalonda hit. Took a bus to Burauen, for as far as you could see every coconut tree was broken off about half way up. US military was there putting up utilities poles and power lines for electricity. Tacloban was probably worst place hit. I’ve never seen storm damage at such a wide scale and I’m sure most of it was because they don’t follow much of a building code over there.
I am happy to see your back home in leyte with your family. I have been a fan of yours for a couple of years Know. I have plans to go to the Phills in for the first time in April or May. I will be in Cebu. God Bless you Tim and your family. :)😄
Glad you made it back home safe! Your snark is appreciated "doing this for more views" 😂 Hahaha I love Chrissys reaction to the Taco Tims shirt. Loooveee the beachfront! What a special place to live and raise a family.
I am with tim phillpines is crazy beautiful . It got a beauty you don't see in other asian countries. I fell in in love with place back in 2016 been back every year since and I miss it alot since covid pandemic .. I hope Phillpines relaxes it covid measures to be able to come back
You did a great job Mr.tim!!! ignore those people who hasnt help anything but to bashed. Those people? We must pray that hope they dont experience the hardness in life like the way you did. You help lots Mr.Tim!!! Youre such a very nice guy especially your golden heart. We love you! Watchin here in texas.
Nice pink shoes at 5:05 Kuya Tim. As a fellow veteran I can relate that any of your old army buddies would also comment, all in good fun of course. Congrats also on your wife taking you back! Much better of course than trying to charm one of the Cebu Pacific flight attendants, that's for sure.
Glad you made it home safely Tim. That crazy bike ride in Vietnam in the crazy rain looked like it could have been dangerous especially riding along with the two Bens. 🙂
Good your back home to family and friends. Long wet trip in Vietnam that was. Snowing here now in London Ontario and most areas in Ontario and State side. Enjoyed this video Thank You
Glad you made it back, Tim. Hard to believe it’s been a year since Odette, doesn’t seem like it’s been that long. Glad you and family made it through that also.
Tim did you hear about the unfortunate landslide in Genting, Malaysia a few days ago. The erratic weather and La Nina phenomenon has been causing more rainfall than usual in S.E.A :(
You look good my friend God bless you I've been watching your videos off and on for the last 2 years I can't wait to come over there I'm trying to come over there in November to see dumaguete I think I'm going to make that my home base so I can bounce around a little bit and see some of the islands and places hopefully someday I might be able to meet you my friend God bless you and your family Happy New Year from New York
Big Fan of your PI vids for 2 years, Bro! That said, Recent vids getting kind of Sappy, Soap Opera- like. Seems to be a trend with many other vlogers too, creating crisis out of nothing. With all the negative real reality, tension, turmoil and distress in the world, it's more joyful watching your faithful dog fetching coconuts in crystal clear surf! Train him to catch Mermaids In Disdress! (Oops, i meant Distress)
Thanks Tim. I spent 2 yrs in south-east Asia in the 90’s and your blogs are spot on. You show understanding and respect to different ways of going thru life + your immediate family is gorgeous. May God continue to bless you and your loved ones.
Wow thanks for showing me your meal , and not giving me some ! Boy am I starving ! I saw your hood up , and smelled your food , so I stoped !, umm umm that sure looks good ! Don’t you know me ? I’m Tim , the U TUBE BLOGGER ! No , ok then , I guess I’m gonna go !
Hey Tim, glad to see you made it back safely and have rejoined your family, Merry Christmas to you, Chrissy, and Dale I hope you guys really enjoy that special day and reflect on all of your blessings.
Sadly some people will almost always think the worst in any situation. Not that my opinion really matters but heres my two cents. You and your wife seem like good down to earth people and i am happy to see you both doing well and safe. On a side note my gf is from Manila and we plan on retiring in the Philippines so i really enjoy your videos and i learn some as well!
I started to watch your channel recently.. you could do with Abit more enthusiasm in your videos you don't seem with it at times 😂 but I enjoy the watch 🍻
Hello Tim & Family, A year later, I can 'feel' the shock of the typhoon. It was all over RU-vid. As an armchair-American, the wheels start turning about "how to make things better". Bless the work that you and Chrissy et al did in that time. Here, we pay lip service to "go bags" for emergencies but go-bag disasters are few and far between compared to the Philippines. (Gee --- all those palm trees. That should be a roaring red flag that says "typhoons happen often here!".) 2 months without power... I don't even want to think. I'm setting myself up for making an "I'm a Mr. Fix It American" fool of myself, but I suppose there's worse things expats can do in their retirement. (The biggest/easiest thing I saw was how much good a whole lot of bow saws could do in clearing the roads as quickly as possible.) Merry Christmas -- Tim, Chrissy, and Dale!
Hey Tim K. You have lost weight mate. Looking more fitter n healthier mate. I remember the typhoon from 12 months ago but I was safely back in Melbourne getting updates from Camotes Island.. Luckily the typhoon was only the outer winds pass over Camotes Island before causing devastating damage to Cebu and other areas..Then in February the Philippines 🇵🇭 decided to allow tourists back in n I arrived in Cebu early April for 3 months working in our new business and doing delivery to our customers around Camotes Island. I went home in July for a month and back in Cebu in August until early November
