For anyone who wants to know Garri is more nutritious than cereal because it comes from a whole food source. It’s better with milk, or coconut milk (new gen) and lots of sugar (works with sugar alternatives too again new gen). And the peanuts give it texture. In Nigeria, it’s typically hot, and there’s no ice cold water running out the tap. So the ice cools the garri for consumption.

I am married with a Nigerian ( igbo). I am from Holland but to tell you the truth i haven't tried garri for very very long time. Not untill...... I was pregnant with our second child and i tried to eat garri (Why?) Because my daughter she loves it and of course the cravings. And let me tell you . I fell in Love with it. Even my friends they were laughing at me when i was drinking garri everyday. I am living in Nigeria now and there are a lot of foods to enjoy.

Garri for you guys is called Farine in Trinidad 🇹🇹 . I've never used ice and peanuts though. We use it with powdered milk as cereal and we also add hot water to it to make a paste and eat it with stews in place of rice. My mom also adds grated coconut with hers when roasting/drying it. As a child as I would just add brown sugar to it and eat it dry...delicious!!!!
