I remember being in front of the TV bored to death with the other songs and then ... this came up. Almost 20 years afterwards, and I still looked it up. Great song, great performance.
In 2005 I traveled from Canada to Europe for the 1st time... I had never heard of Eurovision. I watched all the bands and artists, thinking "Ok well I get this is certainly not a rock contest " until WigWam came on the tv. Holy moley they rocked my world and to this day I think they should've won!!!!
MY ABSOLUTELY FAVOURITE EUROVISION SONG EVER! i was only 5 while watching with my family but this song literally stayed with me all my life, truly amazing
They should have won in 2005 (9th place was a joke), and should have been the first rock song to win ESC. They paved the way for Lordi and Måneskin. Norway is always underrated. 🙄
I’ve never been a Eurovision fan, but saw this on the ESC as a teen and have never forgotten it. Just looked it up again after 17 years and I still love it.
As a rock fan i was fascinated by this song, and despite the fact i haven't heard it since the actual show was on air, the song's hook is so strong, i remembered it till now! So glad to find this video. I'd better not play it on loop if i want to sleep well) Great performance, Wig Wam!
Well no he used a 2010 song of theirs called “do you really wanna taste it” The problem with this song is he screeches it a bit and isn’t nearly as much of an earworm like the one used for Peacemaker.
I have no idea why this song was the first thing I thought about when I woke up this morning, but boy am I glad I did. Such a forgotten gem, and what a banger!
Rock & Roll is meant to be bombastic and unashamed. Wig Wam embody these things perfectly. I love this band, and thank "Peacemaker" and James Gunn for introducing me to them. :-D
Estonia was also robbed of the victory in 2009.. Randajad was by FAR my favourite. Still an awesome song in 2022 and such a stronger song than our fiddler than won.
I'm so happy this appeared in "Peacemaker" It's my winner in 2005 and among my favourite rock songs ever in ESC and there are so many amazing rock entries from ESC too 🤩🦅
@@crazydude2361 Episode 7. If you haven't watched, there's another Wig Wam song in the fantastic opening credits. HUGE recommend (and not just for the excellent soundtrack!)
After having left behind ESC 2021, I traveled back to my memory for the rock songs in ESC history. Here I am again after so many years. It was my favorite back then, unforgettable
2005 was a great year for Euovision. Norway and Switzerland rocked the house, and probably made way for Lordi to enter and win in 2006. 'ROCK'N'ROLL REVOLUTION!!' :-D
Funny that there were FOUR rock songs in the 2005 final. Switzerland, Russia, Germany and this one. Not sure if the Moldovan can be called a rock song?
That's why I love ESC 2005, Ruslana's victory led to what can only be described as the Rock Exploision. Norway, Switzerland, Slovenia (sadly, didn't make it to the final), Moldova, Hungary, Albania to the extent and many more. And yeah, the rock wave even hit Russia and Germany. I'm Russian and I'm really sad that this is the only rock entry in a traditional sense we've ever sent
Norway, the best esc country!!! Great entries every year with no expectation. Amazing song,my second favorite from the 2005 contest.. With one word:EPIC
Only just discovered this amazing Band over the last 6 months, their catalog of songs is pretty damn good, wrong decade, but I will never knock back good RnR anytime. A Fan from Down Under!
I've had this chorus going inside my head for like 10 years, and I couldnt figure out where the hell I heard it. I tried googling whatever lyrics i remembered, but nothing. Just found an app yesterday that let me whistle the song, and It would find matches. And finally, hahaha. What a relief lmao - makes sense too, as I'm a big ESC fan
The best song ever to have graced Eurovision. This Song Should have won the competition in 2005. I'm from the land down under and watched this on TV at that time, & still listen to it today.
Does James Gunn love Eurovision or something? Like I LOVE Wig Wam and have done since I was very young (being originally from Norway I grew up loving them) I can't believe they're the intro song to Peacemaker!
I was 6 years old when this happened... and hearing this makes me feel a lot of nostalgia! This is the first Eurovision moment that I can remember! When I was 6, this song was on the radio in Norway all the time! It was around the time that I started to develop sleep problems for the first time, and I remember one time when there was a party next door. I couldn't sleep, and the party måde that problem worse... they were playing mostly pop songs, but around 2 AM they played this song, and they played it over and over again! I was lying in my bed, smiling and singing along! I can't describe how good it is to hear this song after all these years! I still love it just as much as I did back then, and I can still remember the lyrics! I cannot, however, see how this is "glam rock", as it bears no resemblance to the real thing with David Bowie, T.Rex, Slade, Sweet, Queen etc, but anyway og it's not real glam, it IS fucking good and I am proud that my country sent this one to Eurovision! It's probably the best ESC song ever!
I still remember and listen to this from time to time, 19 years later. I imagine if this was released in the 80s, as is with their other songs, they'd be globally famous.
I actully met the singer in Wig Wam also know as Åge Sten Nilsen last monday, since hes touring in Norway now by himself and he just happen to have a consert in the small city where i live, meeting him was like a dream coming true, i even got a autograf on my phone so yeah it was truly a amazing day.
