This month’s meeting of the Wigtownshire U3As Photography Club was held at Cruggleton Farm where we visited the ruined castle with its arch then on to the medieval Church.
It was a pleasant walk up over the fields and down to the castle with its panoramic view out over the bay. The remains of the castle are on the edge of a high cliff which added to the ambience of the place.
The original church probably dates back to the eleventh centaury but had fallen into ruins and was restored in the 1890s. The local churches hold a joint service in the church once a year, usually in September.
