Kazumi Totaka clearly knows how to compose a sports theme. This sounds like a perfect combination of every TV sports theme I remember from the 80s and 90s together
I'm not joking, everything I hear this song I get teary eyed and sometimes even start to cry. It's just like, "where did the time go?" Good memories I'll hold onto forever.
I like to think this is a Japanese composers take on American sports themes(like NFL, NBA, MLB, etc.) just carries the same energy ☺️ but less aggressive

I can’t believe 2006 was that long ago. I remember how mind blowing the Wii was when it came out. It instantly made you the cool kid on the block if you had one.
I had one and people I didn’t even know from school were asking to come over to my house to play it and my neighbours came on Christmas Day to play it as well
fuck.....this shit hits so hard, it feels like yesterday we were all playing this on our brand new Wiis, time does fly. I still have my Wiis (all four of the colors) and I play wii sports every month.
The bass goes so hard in this - I pulled out our Wii for the first time in a few years and when it was hooked up to more modern TV speakers playing this my house was shaking.
Honestly, the amount of effort that Wii had put into composing this masterpiece back in the day (I bought my wii back in March 2008, and even then this is the best console related theme music I've ever heard❤️) was unreal. I'm sorry but in the case of PlayStation, all they offer is the current era's music in their games 😭, without any original soundtrack. Playing tennis on Wii sports definitely gives me more happiness than playing FIFA on any modern day console!

story time which this song is involved. In the last day of middle school, our art teacher allowed us to make a slideshow about a character we liked, and she allowed us to be characterized by the character. and I had a friend who was addicted to Matt from Wii Sports at VERY UNHEALTHY levels. On the day of the presentation, I presented about Wheatley from Portal 2 and was characterized as the human version of him. At the time of this friend's presentation, we had to listen to TWO FUCKING HOURS of him talking about Matt from Wii Sports while this song played in a perfect loop. Our art teacher was already starting to have migraines because of the repetitive music, yes, MIGRAINES. no one else got the chance to present other than me and this friend. and when it was our graduation day, we had the opportunity to play any song we wanted (but that was appropriate) at our entrance. I played Want you Gone, the song that plays at the end of Portal 2. Then it was the turn of this friend obsessed with Matt. and guess what song he played? EXACTLY WHAT YOU THOUGHT. THE WII SPORTS SONG. I just remember seeing my art teacher start to shake, literally SHAKE when the song started playing. On the first day of high school, this friend was called into the principal's office and was banned from making slideshows for the rest of his stay at school. After the first week of classes, this friend just disappeared. no wonder why. thank you, Todd.
Same but ngl I kinda like the switch sports main theme music in my opinion it sounds happy and fun like Wii sports is supposed to be but Wii sports main theme will always be legendary
After 10 years, I finally heard the whole song, without the rush of getting 100 points or so in Bowling, or simply just enjoying simple Tennis. This song makes memories of tens millions of kids and adults relive another time.
everytime I hear this song, I go back in time when I was 4 years old (2009) and playing Wii Sports Bowling. now we are in 2022 (when I am watching it) and 17yo and it still kicks in. man, we are getting old sooooo quick...
I didn't have a Nintendo Wii, my only acquaintance with it was when I spent the night with friends from Poland. They had this console and I asked if I could play it? They said yes, brought a Wii Remote and two discs: Wii Sports and Mario Kart. I was surprised that some box the size of a satellite TV tuner and some white remote could track my movements. I played bowling, tennis and Mario Kart.That's how I got to know Nintendo. This music is engraved in my memory
The music is soo good. No matter what your age is, this melody brings a kind of peace in your mind. It's inviting you and your family to play the game together. Too bad I never had the luxury to play Wii or any other consoles.
