Only Nintendo does unlockable characters these days, if this were any other company Rosalina would have cost $5.99

People are actually complaining because Rosalina is a secret character rather than Daisy? Since when has Daisy been a relevant character in ANY Mario game? Minus being in the party and sports games, she hasn't been in any main title since Land. And she won't until Nintendo decides to write her into some new plot.

My hype for this game is ridiculous. I didn't think it was possible for me to be more excited and then Nintendo shows off a Mario Kart style stage and Rosalina as a playable character. This game is going to be amazing!!!

As someone who has a NES with SMB as their first game, the introduction of Rosalina has been the best thing ever in recent Mario history.

Impressive! This blows away anything I've seen on PS4 or Xbone so far. I don't have a Wii U yet, but this would have to be the first purchase once I take the plunge. Also, I loved Mario 3D Land on 3DS; I beat everything in it.

MORE OF THIS, NINTENDO. Make a game of this caliber with starfox, metroid, f zero, zelda, or maybe a new IP and the Wii U will sell like hotcakes. It probably will anyway with this release.

Clearly, Nintendo knew how to innovate in the videogames' new generation, even when they send out the Wii U before their company rivals, this game is promising and I hope their next games would be like this.

Wonderful graphics, stupendous gameplay, outstanding music, massive variety, amazing design, unique feel, awesome multiplayer, and unmatched fun…only on Nintendo.

I'm really hoping for some DLC characters. Don't get me wrong, I'm really excited about Rosalina but I just kept thinking, why not Wario or even Daisy? Those two have been with Nintendo for such a long time and I think they deserve some more time in the spotlight.

Despite Xbox One and PS4 coming out, the only console I wish for Christmas this year is a Wii U, now that this and other wonderful recent games came out.

Everybody says that the game of this year will be GTA V,Bioshock Infinite,or The Last of Us.But pratically no one was remembering of Super Mario 3D World. I think he will be the best game of the year (and maybe,one of the best of all times).

Being playable in an adventure game is probably gonna boost Rosalina's chances of being in Smash Bros.

I have a feeling this game has the potential to become my new favorite 3D Mario game of all time. It may even surpass my likes for Super Mario 64.

This game stopped being an update of Super Mario 3D Land a long time ago. There is so much content in it. I hope the Super Mario 3D games become the standard for Mario games in the future.

I think Daisy needs more screentime! I loved Rosalina, and i'm more excited than ever now she's playable. But they could use SO MANY characters instead! Daisy would be a better choice! She would be in a MAIN Mario game for the first time! Yoshi would have been even more AWESOME! Heck, even Wario and/or Waluigi! Nintendo needs to remember more about those characters OUTSIDE sports games!

Nintendo now you have made me excited about getting this game. I am so going to play as Rosalina in every level. The problem is since she is such an awesome character my sibling and I are going to have a fun time trying to figure out who gets to play as Rosalina.

For some reason this makes me believe that Rosalina will be an unlockable character for Super Smash Bros. 4, only because they introduced her in Super Mario 3D World, which I really didn't expect to happen.

I already knew about some of this stuff due to snippets of gameplay, but PLAYABLE ROSALINA WITH A SPIN ATTACK?!?! I was going to skip this game, but congratulations, Nintendo! You now have me sold!

In my opinion, this is way better than Sonic Lost World.

I thought the Mario series was doomed to stagnation, but the people in charge of these games have proven they still have some good ideas left, and they're still trying. This game is the Mario Sunshine to 3D World's Mario 64. Let's hope this trend continues and the series stays on the up and up!

Rosalina as a playable character!?! Nintendo, you just made my day.

For those asking for even more characters, keep something in mind: more characters creates more potential for inbalance in gameplay. It's why the Smash Bros developers have said they're so careful about who they add to the series because it's easy to slip up and make a character who is superior to the others. So I'd rather have a Mario 3D World with 5 balanced characters over one that's unbalanced. Not saying they can't potentially make another character(s) and still keep it level-field, but they might not have the development time so just something to keep in mind.

Being able to play as Rosalina is pretty cool. But I must admit, I'm a little disappointed that the fifth character isn't Daisy. It seems like she and Waluigi are only around for racing Karts, playing sports, or participating in Mario Party. Neither one of them have been in a Mario adventure game, unless you count Daisy being at the end of the original Mario Land for the Game Boy. Perhaps the next time Luigi gets his own game, his rumored girlfriend and his rival should show up in it...!

So that's Mario, Luigi, Peach, Toad, Captain Toad, and now Rosalina? Who's next? Yoshi? Wario? Bowser?

You know Nintendo, for the next exclusive sonic game you should make a 4player 2 and a half d platforming adventures. Characters. Mario, Sonic, Luigi, Tails. Plot. How. About something like Eggman and Bowser teaming up. Stuff like that.

I really liked Mercedes Rose as the voice of Rosalina. Her voice fit perfectly for Rosalina. I was so upset to hear her voice change in Mario Kart 7 with Kerri Kane as the new voice actress. I think if Kerri Kane was her voice from the start, we wouldn't be having this problem lol I don't know what happened to Mercedes Rose but I think Nintendo did a good job in finding a voice not too different

those clone cherries look like they're be a challenge to use properly, but it looks like a ton of fun. cant wait to get this game!

Awww man I really wish you didnt put the unlockable character in the thumbnail of this video. I still probably would of watched this video anyways and stopped at number 10 so that it wasnt spoiled for me. I was trying so hard not to find out who the unlockable character was, looks like it is too late now sadly.

A few of these aren't really that original but I'm still getting this game for sure. (BTW props to you nintendo for putting in an awesome arcade classic, a racer, and a plat former all-in-one mario game :D )

was expecting yoshi to appear in the first true hd mario game.... sucking and chucking the enemy running around with eggs in glorious hd graphics....man....thats what i wanted since i saw yoshi in 64 hidden up the roof of peach castle =/ oh well off to play ds 64 remake.....and il stay with my fantasy of cat yoshi.....

This makes me want a Wii U. I mean, I was probably hoping to get one soon, but there wasn't any one game that made me want one. Now there is.

Awesome rundown on some other interesting additions to Super Mario 3D World. There's definitely a bunch of nice things here to make it stand out from just being a clone of 3D Land. All 10 of these things are great in their own way, and I like the music playing in the background too, which is also really catchy. The game is coming soon but alas, I don't have a 3DS or Wii U and won't for a long time. At least I can be excited about this game and plan on getting it soon.

Rosalina??? I never expected her to be playable. All I expected was Rosalina to be at the end of the game showing off Super Mario Galaxy 3. :P

Y'know what would really make me love this game? A story. I know Miyamoto's standpoint on such a thing, "You don't need story for a good Mario game' And y'know what? I agree. You don't need a story for a good Mario game. Which is what made Super Mario Galaxy such a fantastic game. Yes, there was a lot in the game that also made it good, but what really got me was the story. It was there, it provided more then just 'oh, go and rescue the princess.' It developed on a character, a good character at that. And honestly? Would there really be a trade off? What, the loss of a single level of the game? Even then, that level could easily be made later as DLC. Honestly, a Mario game with a story just to me seems like a case of where I can have my cake and can eat it too.

Daisy doesn't have enough features that would distinguish her from Peach, Rosolina is more unique and interesting imo.
