This was the singular most insane ending to anything ever. No mc roleplay will ever top the sillyness, emotional investment and dedication the dreamsmp had. Thank you Wilbur, for these insane years. You're amazing.
@@imacheckneck not mad just stating the fact that I don't think it was the most insane ending to anything ever nor is it the most emotional Minecraft role-play
The gut wrenching cry Tommy did when Wilbur left literally made me forget Wilbur was going to Utah for a moment and it just shattered my heart into a million pieces. But hey, at least this isn't the first time he has been left alone on an island :')
i know a lot of people dont like this ending, but as someone who has been around for the whole of will’s story, it really ends off his story with the same silly demeanor from when it started. things werent always so serious. and utah is a reflection of that :] so long, soot
it’s gonna be so weird without him anymore he genuinely left such a big impact on the dreamsmp for me and many others. From the whole l’manburg stuff to revivedbur I loved every bit !! There’s a part of me that wants him to make a new character so that he isn’t completely gone but a part of me says he should stay gone. I’m really gonna miss this guy’s character :)
I feel so dumb right now but like in a really good way. I have just been following this story along for 2 years, getting invested in the story and it’s characters, making and consuming fan art practically on the daily. I used to watch lore streams during class and I have (i hate to admit it) cried over this story on multiple occasions… c!Wilbur has always been easily my second favorite character beside c!Tommy. I have been waiting for this ending for days, reading theories and character analyses… and now this character I have grown to love has a dumbass (/pos) ending where he Becomes Real and Goes To Fucking Utah. I couldn’t ask for a more perfect ending.
Well said! These few years I feel like I've grown with them, and I've gotten so endlessly attached to these characters. What a lovely way to end off the friends-messing-around-turned-into-angsty-wars!
honestly, no other way to end this emotional roller coaster than revealing the man who created lmanberg was actually an american lmao thank you so much for creating such a wonderful character
Keeping it short, Following C!Wilbur since almost since the start, it was a Rollercoaster. It was absolutely insane and amazing watching everything unfold on the dsmp, as a fan, a viewer, artist, just a person of the community Seeing the end of c!Wilbur really has me (and so many others) feeling so many emotions. Thank you
(Hey! This will contain spoilers for the Dsmp, as well as mentions of death and violence!!) At the end of Wilbur's final Dsmp lore stream, he reads the poem Ozymandias, by Percy Bysshe Shelley. I haven't really seen anyone go into a deep dive regarding the significance of the poem, and why Wilbur chose it, so I wanted to share my interpretation of it's meaning. After doing some research online, I learned that the poem itself was written as a "metaphor for the ephemeral nature of political power." [SparkNotes] (Ephemeral means lasting for a very short time btw) This automatically ties in with C!Wilbur's political status within the Smp. According to LitCharts, the name Ozymandias is actually another name for Ramses II, an ancient Egyptian Pharoah. Ramses is very well known for his interests in architecture and building skills. He rebuilt many different monuments and structures during his time of rule, which I suppose could be connected to Wilbur building L'manburg (twice if you count Ghostbur rebuilding L'manburg.) No matter how any times it was rebuilt, it was just destroyed again, which could tie in with the poems theme of the "Ephemeral nature of political power." [SparkNotes] Another example of this could be Wilbur himself, and how he was elected out of office after short time. [I met a traveler from an antique land who said: "Two vast and trunkless legs of stone stand in the desert.] A traveler you say? From an antique land? I'm gonna go off on a limb here and say that this line is referring to Wilbur. He's a traveler who quite literally came from an antique land. (The Dsmp or the Over, Over world could both work as that antique land.) Those two vast and trunkless legs of stone that stand in the desert are most likely supposed to be Wilbur's. However, in the actual poem, an ancient and crumbled statue is being referred to. (According to LitCharts, it's an old statue of Ramses II, or Ozymandias) I think that C!Wilbur comparing himself to that is a great thing. That is because Wilbur is FAR past his prime in terms of being seen as great and caring. Ramses II was actual a very well loved Pharoah, much like Wilbur before Pogtopia. Now, he's simply a shell of what he used to be, a crumpled statue of a once great king, if you will. This is further supported by the next line, which reads ["Near them on the sand, half sunk, a shattered visage lies, whose frown and wrinkled lip and sneer cold command,"] The word visage means, according to Oxford Languages, a person's face, with reference to the form or proportions of the features. Wilbur's well known visage is now crumbled and shattered. It's far from what it used to be. I think we all know that "sneer cold command" refers to the darker side of Wilbur's rule. The moment he loses his political power, and is exiled, he wants to get rid of L'manburg, becayse if he can't have manburg, "no one can have manburg." This really showed his true nature, and his controlling and manipulative ways. This is FURTHER supported later on in the poem, but we'll cross that bridge when we get there. ["Tell that its sculpture well those passions read which yet survive, stamped on these lifeless things, The hand that mocked them and the heart that fed."] I think that this section of the poem is supposed to represent Wilbur's passion and dedication to creating and keeping L'manburg. The hand that mocked could represent things that prohibited L'manburg's thriving, like Dream or Schlatt, while the heart that fed could represent the things that kept Wilbur motivated to continue fighting, like Tommy, Tubbo, Niki, etc, or Wilbur's own pride. ["And on the pedestal these words appears: ' My name is Ozymandias, king of kings: Look on my works and, ye mighty, and despair! '"] This part. This part right here. This is the cherry on top. When Wilbur read the poem at the end of the stream, the name Ozymandias wasn't there, and the name Wilbur Soot was there instead, blurred out. "King of kings: Look on my works, ye mighty, and despair!" We all know that C!Wilbur is a bit of a control freak. He likes to be in control of every situation, and he likes to be in charge of every situation, and when he doesn't have that power, he goes a bit.. insane. By calling himself the king of kings, he's putting himself on top of everyone else. He wants to be the one in charge of everyone in L'manburg. This is different from Dream's desire for power, because he wants EVERYONE under his rule. This doesn't make Wilbur any better, though. Much like Dream, Wilbur is very manipulative, and is willing to hurt people to get his way. He thinks very highly of himself, and likes to be in positions of power. When he doesn't get what he wants, he tends to throw a tantrum. (Or he did) He quite literally blew up L'manburg after being exiled. I guess you could say that he worked super hard to found L'manburg, and that he was upset it was taken from him, but Tommy was too, and ge didn't want to destroy Manburg. "Look upon my works, ye mighty, and despair!" I feel like this could refer to both the "Heroes" and "Villians" of the SMP. I think that "ye mighty" is meant to represent people that Wilbur sees as important, or powerful, like Tommy or Dream. Depending on who you think he's establishing as mighty, his "works" could be either L'manburg, or destroyed L'manburg. Maybe he's taunting them or boasting to them about what he's done. Whatever that is, however, would make them despair. ["Nothing beside remains. Round the decay of that colossal wreck, boundless and bare, the lone and level sands stretch far away."] This final section of the poem is meant to symbolize the destruction of L'manburg, and how it was "Nothing beside remains" after the explosion. This could also refer to Wilbur after everything that happened to him on the smp. "Round the decay of that colossal wreck, boundless and bare, the lone and level sands stretch far away." I believe that this final statement is meant to describe how Wilbur feels in Utah. At this point, he'd surely see himself as a "colossal wreck" that only brings decay, even if he's happy to be home. He's made it clear multiple times that he isn't pround of what he has done, and that be regretted it much. The lone and level sands that stretch far away are supposed to symbolize the desert in Utah that Wilbur "spawned" in. In summary, I think that the poem Ozymandias was chosen to best summarize Wilbur's entire story, and to describe how Wilbur felt at the end of it. Now that it's all over, he's going to need to find a way to move on with his life, and eventually forgive himself. "But I never did quite forgive myself."
This is so special. I’ve been watching the DreamSMP since even before lore started, and seeing c!Wilbur grow as a character was so cool. I’m so glad we got this finale to his arc. Also: Utah isn’t real. I’ve been there.
I really did feel like I was watching the Dreamsmp back in 2020! I left the fandom when 2022 started and I’ve been missing 2020-2021 era so much and this stream really made me happy :] thank you so much for this ending, I really enjoyed how goofy it was!! this stream was such a rollercoaster of emotions and the perfect way to end c!wilbur’s story. thank you wilbur :]
this was amazing! Not what I expected AT ALL! But amazing! Angsty, wholesome, funny... just as it should be. Ghostbur has friend, Wilbur told Tommy that he means the world to him and that he did it all for him, we got an IRL Utha scene and c!Wilbur was FUCKING AMERICAN all this time! KEKW - WIlbur Soot , King of Kings, thanks for the past two years of great c!Wilbur lore. That was perfect!
i will miss this silly little guy so much. ive been watching since the beggining of dream smp, this was so good and were so proud of you, good job!! we love u sm wilbur
this was the perfect ending. I'm glad it ended how it started: tommy and wilbur. wilbur will never stop making us go "what the fuck?" but also be compelled with every story he has. i'm so glad i've gotten to see so much of character wilbur; he's been on the dreamSMP for so long, he deserves a trip to Utah
This was definitely a hell of a ride lmao The ending was certainly unexpected, yet it made me tear up AND burst out laughing Math isn't still mathing with the Utah story tho I'll miss C!Wilbur (Friend got me tearing up so bad o7) I can't wait for s2 :D
The emotional turmoil I was in due to this stream will never be forgotten by me or my family due to my screams and wall hitting. Despite the plot twist being kind of hilarious this stream made me cry in the best way possible and I'm just happy. Amazing job Wilbur, you have created something remarkable.
this was such a perfect ending for c!Wilbur's story. knowing how goofy and lighthearted the SMP's beginning was, it's really satisfying to see the finale mirror that energy!! despite the clear heaps of effort, there's something very humble in an ending that doesn't take itself seriously, especially with how this whole thing got started. amazing work Mr. Soot, i'm very excited to see what you do next :]
also, unrelated but i was fucking WHEEZING at Utah only being reachable by boat. it's literally landlocked. i guarantee Wilbur knows this. it's so stupidly clever and underappreciated and i LOVE it
Honestly, I was sat there going “Noooo!… NooO… no cmon really??? That can’t be it!!” But this comment helped me realize the intention: To not take the ending seriously. Even if my brain still hurts trying to figure out what the fuck kind of Bermuda Triangle bullshit allowed people to enter into a game-like reality in the middle of the ocean. Like … Here’s what I’m thinking: XD is a god that has created this area we know as the DSMP so he could have a people to rule over. Or maybe to see what would happen if a bunch of people were plopped into a new environment without any instructions on what to do… for fun… (seems like something XD would do) But, in this area, all things seemingly impossible to us, are possible. Spirits running rampant, magic coexisting with science, demons and animal hybrids living amongst humans, time travel, revival… yet it’s hidden from the world by some sort of barrier. Wilbur talks about how he went through a storm before he got to the SMP, so my thought is he passed through this border (hidden by a storm, or maybe the border is the storm) just looking to outlast the terrible weather. Completely on accident. But ended up inside this area ruled by XD. But again it’s just me trying to rationalize what the fuck Wil just implied. like… Wilbur just turned this so real world that I can’t fully wrap my brain around this new information.
INSANE. I know people are going to be upset with the crack portion, but I'm glad it kept me from being too sad and dwelling on things, and it all encapsulated the spirit of the dsmp. the little cwilbur man will always be in my brain
This is the most crazy and also confusing lore streams I've ever watch. One minute I was crying and ready to break down the next I'm in a straight face because C!Wilbur says he is from Utah. Like I'm still confused untill now. The real meaning of crack treated seriously.
Ok, rewatching this without the overwhelming feeling I had watching this live, I just realized how much Tommy embodied the audience near the end. Being confused and calling this a joke was a lot of twitters reaction along with other negative feelings. I personally enjoyed this ending because while it was jokey like some people wanted, it could be interpreted more seriously. Wilbur had been a crappy person then died then came back and apologized for the things he did. He might have accidentally killed people but he seems to want to move on as he went on this apology tour, seeking to make amends or at least give the people he hurt closure before finally leaving back to where he came form. After everything he's experienced it makes sense for him to want to go back to where he originally came from, aka Utah. A quiet place filled with nothing but sand is relaxing compared to the political turmoil, magic of reviving, seeing companions die and betray, see his son leave him, it'd make sense to just want peace. Someone also mentioned going back might be Wilbur's way of taking the steps towards healing for himself which is just important and I kind of agree with? I'm a late joiner to the dsmp so I didn't get to know Will's character as good as others but from what I gathered I think this ending was well done both for the people who just wanted to keep the dsmp light hearted but also for those who enjoyed lore
I'm gonna start shitting myself. The drip finally stops. It's been such an honour to have been a part of this until the very end, thank you so much for all of it. The dream smp saved lives and will forever be a part of the ones left. o7 to Technoblade, o7 to all the fans we lost who never got to see the end. I can't speak for the entire fandom, but all of it will remain in my heart forever. I'm going to miss this.
I’m so glad I saw this live, to be able to cry and laugh to the lore I started watching since December 2020 Thank you for letting us see your character grow, and can’t wait to see what you have next :)) Also fucking Utah????
how in the actual HELL did I miss this by a year, I now know why people were so hyped over wilburs ending and i had no clue why, its cuz i missed literally, all of it Fr tho, despite me being a year late? how the hell? this is an amazing ending to Wilburs character, I know Wilbur talked before about wanting to have Quackity be apart of the ending but, it wasn't possible at the time, awesome he still managed to make a banger ending. [literally going to Utah -with shelby- and dressing up as revivebur in the process] ALSO, GHOSTBUR AND FRIEND, I WAS NOT EXPECTING THAT
So proud of Wilbur !!! I’ve been here October 2020 and it was truly a blast seeing the whole story slowly unwrap. This was such a good way to end things, started silly and ended silly !
I can't belive that this is actually the end of it all.. Its been so long, 2 years! It's crazy to say, but this SMP has changed the lives of so many people. We are all very much excited to see what you all have in store for Act / Season 2.
Wilbur admitting that he can’t forgive himself, Wilbur’s goodbye to Tommy, and finally, Ghostbur seeing Friend? Don’t mind me crying my eyeballs out over here.
I'm still trying to process what I just watched, lmao. This'll be a talking point for a long time for sure. In any case, thank you, Wilbur. Following this character's story for the two years has been fucking wild, an emotional journey if you will, truly something special. I hope he finds happiness in Utah. o7
I Loved The Lore But I’m Just So I Don’t Even Know Rn, I’m Going To Cry.. I Love You Man /p But How SPOILER WILBUR HOW THE HELL DID UTAH GET IN THIS TOPIC, THE LORE 😭✋
I was so prepared to shed tears(still did though), but was instead left confused as hell. That aside, I can't believe that it has been 2 years since this silly but endearing character has come to life. I'm glad to have witnessed c!Wilbur's story coming to an end(?) in live time, and if there's more to it, I will very much be looking forward to what's coming next.
The fact that wilbur cosplayed his own character from the dream smp is amazing AND LOVE THE CONCEPT AND ENDING!! Especially since that friend got to see Ghostbur in Limbo
I mean.. if someone knew history. The Americans when they fought for independence, had blue uniforms. And British had red uniforms. I don't know why I forgot this plain detail of the entire series that predicted this.
Damn..... c!Wilbur Soot irl BROOOOO!!!!!! I have to say, I have never seen such a crazy wacky ending before bro, I have to admit; the voice acting, the silly jokes, the emotional angsty rollercoaster mixed in it, (in c!Tommy's perspective); and the excitement of the most incredible happy ending (in c!Wilbur's perspective), stupid, but hilariously breathtaking. To be honest, when I saw that ending that was IMMENSELY WACKY and I just... just. *I'm just in shook, actually* in the most positive jaw dropping way. Thank you Wilbur, for this DreamSMP lore to have such a story that had/has inspired MANY, (myself included); everything from Lmanburg to the present day, just one of the BEST moments in my life to have ever come back to my lifelong favorite childhood block game. And to everyone else (the Dsmp content creators), just... such a blessing to seeing your all's creativity and how much you all have been always supportive about this entire journey from when quarantine was taken into motion in 2020. Many of the fans that you all have gained, all of which in the Minecraft community, is just.. oh so such a blessing to be wrecking with. And us, we are the audience, and we've all had our ups and downs; but we're all still here. We still had not giving up, and that's just... just, incredible. Even though we've lost a member, a legend, we still haven't backed down on what we've been given, a legacy's legacy in it of its own... (if you know what im saying): we are the legacy that is still holding on to that of his legacy, and as an honorary token of appreciation, we're still together, and still remained strong, and I'm DAMN CERTAIN that he'd be SO EXTRAORDINARILY PROUD of all of you lot for still staying strong. For I too am still trying to stay strong, and am still on that grind. (And to be fair, I'm beyond the most extraordinarily proud of *ALL OF YOU LOT AS WELL.* and that's a fact). Thank you, for everything. :)
I haven’t been here the whole time, like a lot of people have. I missed the entirety of L’manburg and I barely knew ghostbur. I never went back to watch the old streams. I joined right at the beginning of 2021, during the final disc confrontation. And I mean..I’m not going to say it’s been amazing. There’s been times that it’s really, really sucked to be in this fandom. And yet, I have so, so many amazing memories here. So many memories. Of laughter, of tears, of hugs. Of all the wonderful friends I’ve made along the way. And this..while not what I ever expected…was a good ending to that. Thank you, for everything. o7
honestly, it was the saddest stream i've ever watched hopefully c!tommy and c!wilbur will meet once again hope your feeling amazing today have great day/night.
Hooooly shit…re watching him reading out his last written words..then seeing him in “Utah”….my god….now that….that brought back….a lot…of things…..and then wilburs voice when he says “friend” to the sheep…that hit the feels man..
I saw this video a few days after it was posted, and just now i saw it pop up again. The thing is, I thought that this was posted like a few month ago. No, It's been a YEAR. I swear my sense time is warped.
watching this after wills said “minecraft utah isn’t an allegory for death” hits a lot harder. c!Wilbur most likely did kill himself, or died in a different way. honestly him khs makes more sense due to his mission to apologise to everyone, i think it’s an interesting way to end his character
My name is Wilbur Soot King of Kings Look on my works, ye mighty and despair Nothing beside remains round the decay of that colossal Wreck, boundless and bare the lone and level sands streach far away but I never did quite forgive myself
Wilbur, your storytelling and roleplaying skills have made the Dream SMP so special to me ever since September 2020, but i do love this ending, it perfectly balances the funny and emotional moments that the DSMP holds and how it started. You've done so much for so many people and we are all excited for what is to come!
damn wilbur fr went all the way to utah to film that last part season 1's been absolutely amazing, his whole character arc was just *chefs kiss* and I'm really excited to see how s2 will be like! knowing how everyone is, it's gonna be absolutely amazing : )
miss cwilbur already, lol seriously though, you knocked it out of the park, buddy it was everything i wanted from your character and more you absolute madman, it was the perfect finale it was a perfect balance of "dsmp is absolutely ridiculous" all the while being deeply meaningful thank you for this amazing journey! you've inspired me so much over this past year, dude. best wishes!
gonna miss c!wilbur so bad but, thank you so much wilbur for creating this amazing story. it's great how far you've come :] ! excited for ur future stuff
It’s gonna be so wired without c!Wilbur here I loved him and every bit of dream smp lore he made thank you for making this the most insane and most happiest years of my life
Bro I was laughing the whole time till the very end my mood changed so quick with the animation I just straight up cried thanks Wilbur for the hard work you put into the dsmp everything was absolutely chaotic and absolutely amazing 🤍🤍
i’m really happy i got to experience at least part of this live. i’ve been watching since wilbur first joined the smp. seeing it come to an end is very bittersweet
i've never been more invested in a series this much. just a few friends goofing around in a minecraft server, turned into a work of art, a masterpiece even. thank you wilbur soot - for everything.
I’ve been watching the DSMP for 2 years now before L’manberg existed and this finale was so nostalgic, I’m excited for season 2 and Wilbur’s character is absolutely amazing
I dropped dream smp ages ago but I'm glad to see the ending. I started with his videos on it and now am glad to end it with this one. Truly this has been a wonderful journey of a man who has gone so insane he'd willingly want to go back to utah.
Thank you for making something that brought along of emotions during my journeys watching these streams are something that really made a mark in my memory and heart and the end was not what we where expecting but it was great also the beginning really meant a lot because it was like the beginning and these then the part with Phil and I'm just saying the very end was well it was all I need to see with our sweet ghost seeing friend again..... and now for some reason I feel empty like in missing something and that feeling seems to always happen at the end of every lore stream so thank you for this amazing story with c!wilbur
the fact that he couldn't even be honest w tommy, even at the end, and he said he wld just be "going to utah" if you watch eret's stream where they read wilbur's book and wilbur basically says the afterlife is a desert and says to eret "see you in utah" fucking ow. c!wilbur did kill himself, and he's back in limbo.
TThis was the weirdest fucking lore stream i’ve ever watched and there has been some weird as ones. C!wilburs ending wasn’t what I expected at all I mean I started screaming “FUCKING UTAH?!” At the top of my lungs cause… really? UTAH?! It was a fucking roller coaster watching this one though and I wish c!wilbur kept going but it was time he rested, (and went to a fucking desert?) This minecraft sever is different. This minecraft roleplay will always stay in our hearts, even though it’s ending. Wilbur Thankyou for making this, he really needed some closure 💗🫶
