not sure if anyone gives a shit but if you guys are stoned like me during the covid times then you can stream all the latest series on instaflixxer. Been binge watching with my girlfriend lately xD
I first heard this song about six months ago...yeah I know...and it has beguiled me ever since. My dad died earlier this week and it's provided great comfort and solace to me, I don't even know why but it does...
I lOVE Nels, have seen him live with WILCO 6 times in the last 15 years. He's the best living avant garde guitarist. But the best of his generation? He's nearing his 70s. Born in 56. His generation includes Eddie Van Halen, Eric Johnson, AL di Meola, Alan Holdsworth, Phil Keaggy, Pat Matheny, Pierre Bensusan, Birelli Lagrene, Michael Hedges, Yngwie Malmsteen, Joe Satriano, and a ton of other great guitarists.
nels' solo is amazing no matter what version, but this version is the FUCKING SHIT!!! love how he kills it and then switches back to the neck pickup at the literal perfect moment
Larga vida a WILCO.
If this was still new to me I wouldn't understand Impossible Germany Unlikely Japan But this is what love is for To be out of place Gorgeous and alone Face to face With no larger problems That need to be erased Nothing more important than to know Someone's listening Now I know You'll be listening
Both nels and jeff are amazing. But its criminal how pat sansone gets NO attention for the constant amazing color he adds to the mix. Obviously less in some songs. But i dont ever see Pat getting any love
had that same thought. and I Love Nels playing and composing but he is a ham to go along with all of it loll... but this is the moment I've been waiting for I've never actually seen Jeff giving Pat any love and it was great to see
Remember, Jeff, entitled St. Louis music snobs will be critiquing you ab infinitum. This impossible Germany jam is completely unobjectionable and a legitimate triumph. Keep making great music, Jeff.
It's a shame not to have Letterman come on at the end - "woah buddy how about this guy?! huh Paul?", "oh yeah Dave, that's the real deal man", "those your drums..?"
Nico Gonzalez I've read online that Nels uses Dorian mode in original, recorded version but he often explores notes outside of Dorian and makes it so-called bebop scale.
