Argyll and the Isles, Scotland's Adventure Coast, provides an awe-inspiring setting for bikepacking. At 655 km (407 miles) the Wild About Argyll Trail is Bikepacking Scotland’s first long-distance trail that was designed specifically with gravel bikes in mind.

I've been incredibly fortunate to have been working a lot across rural Argyll these last two years, and my electric Leaf car has been my own companion of choice: my silent and faithful friend on my adventures. I pay tribute to the splendid modern infrastructure of rapid charging points without which my travels would have been impossible. And yes, my work is flexible enough to allow me plenty of time to walk and wander: Argyll needs time and contemplation.

Tasty film, Argyll is so often overlooked but has a wealth of cycling, running and hill walking options. I really should try bikepacking!

AWESOME. im bringing my bike here in June. how compatible are front panniers with the terrain?
@BikepackingScotland
@BikepackingScotland 5 лет назад
lefty jones Difficult question. Bikepacking setup with bags is the preferred option, as some sections are more technical. You should be fine mostly on most tracks and the sections on the road.
@ashnfn

@@BikepackingScotland do you carry a tent with just those 2 front and rear bags?

@@ashnfn Not on this trip, as I had to carry all filming equipment, but I normally do.

Great film. Planning for a week of gravel rides in Scotland. This will be on my list. How did you make the video? A lot of riding back and forth? Had your drone with you all the time or did someone assist?
@BikepackingScotland
@BikepackingScotland 5 лет назад
Hi Gabrie, it was all shot without external help. The aerial scenes with a drone, at times in auto follow mode. The other with a cheap selfie stick rammed into the ground after the tripod jumped out of the bag on day one. You are right, a lot of riding back and forth.
