Glad to see you got a motor you like now, it just looks awfully big for a 15hp. Just be sure to keep up the maintenance, American motors can be finicky ... but not nearly as bad a German stuff! WOW.... so man clippers! What a treat to see all that, TY for sharing all that. re; CAULKING and anything else; get everything done you can in Mexico. Everything in the States (except gas) is stupidly expensive now. No joke. Great reminder of how HOT the tropics are when you can go outside at night in 25knots wind and ENJOY getting rained on! You will reminisce about that in Alaska... fondly rather than bitterly, I hope.... Oh, and if they ever do catch you like that, never cover up with your hands. Some punk will always accuse you of playing with yourself. Instead, use your hands to communicate in that universal way that lets them know just what you think of them.
Using the kill cord. Massive upfist for that. If either one of you forgets, the other has my permission to slap them with a live octopus. Remember, that lovely not moving when you let go of the twist grip will guarantee that if you fell out, without the kill cord, the boat will circle round exactly to run over you. Stay safe guys! 😊
Becca & Zach, this episode is truly epic. The cinematography, sound and editing is far and above. Your excitement always is brilliant. We love the new Zodiac and that 15HP Mercury is perfect.
I love the huge smiles of excitement on your faces! Congrats on the new dinghy. It's so great to see you both grow and thrive as sailors and content creators. Can't wait to continue on this journey with you for years to come. Cheers!
You guys have been an inspiration to me and my wife who are now planning on pursuing this life and just told my parents today. Naturally, they think we are pretty crazy being from Nebraska and even asked questions that made me stress a bit as I didnt have an answer to them. Like "what are you going to do after all this". Your intro here helped me ground myself in my decision even more. We will be making a channel soon!
Hey Zack and Becka. Larry and Beth here aboard Pause. We just watched your video about the new dinghy. We are glad to see the pups are now celebrities and that you two made it throught the storm ok.
Lots of good stuff in this one, starting with the fact it's 33 minutes long. Can't have to much Teulu Tribe. As one who as anguished over you only having a 3 horsepower dingy, I cheer your upgrade in both dingy and motor. A lot of smiles of joy in this one also. Love you guys. Stay safe. ❤🙏
Great to see that you got a tour on Team Qingdao! Always love seeing the Clipper boats pop up on the sailing channels. I only spotted Teulu just before we left the marina after refuelling in the morning, too late to say hello 🙃 but at least we got to shower in the marina after 24 days at sea 😉
You two are just loving the sailing life, and why not. What a great new dinghy and outboard. I’m sure it’s going to be great fun and more importantly safer for you aswell. Happy vlog and happy times ahead I’m sure.
I always loved your electric outboard. I am still looking for one like that as I am not a fan of running my little (14'4") catboat with gas. I liked the silence. I do realize that it is too small to depend on for cruising. At 70 I am not traveling that far from home port.
8:20 Becca sits on the packaging plastic so it doesn't blow away & end up in the harbor. Tiny tiny detail but shows how responsible (downright wholesome!) these folks are. Thanks for sharing your adventures!!
Soooo cool to see the Clipper boat. I have been seriously considering doing a leg of the race since I found out about it. I am currently starting much smaller though and doing my RYA level 1 and 2 dinghy courses 😅
Watching Zack take that new tender for a rip takes me back so many years to when a 9.9 replaced a 4 hp. I think I was 9 or 10 at the time. BTW take care to keep the motor clamp screws well lubricated and operable through the full range of motion. They are notorious for seizing and are very dear.
Those clipper boats with the graphics on the hull - I assume those are large wraps, not paint jobs? They look cool. Can’t imagine what a custom wrap, installed, costs for a boat like that.
Congratulations on your new dingy, I am sure that it will serve you well for many years to come. You are an amazing couple and I enjoy watching your channel, I hope you enjoy many years of sailing together ❤️❤️
Hi guys, hope you ran that engine in before opening it up, major damage may happen of you don't, takes a couple of hours at different throttle positions, take a look at parley revivals video of when they got theres
With this Mercury you are meant to run it at all different levels of throttle to break it in...a little bit strange I know 😅 But we are following exactly what they told us. Thanks for letting us know 🙏
Hello. Great times, not exactly the weather one would ask for ! But good to see you out run the storm/ rain . Q. If you have your new dingy hanging from the raft. With all the rain why did you not get a cover for the dingy so that it does not fill with water. Wish You Well
Some of the most wonderful and memorable photographs I’ve taken are in dramatic weather. Of-course there is a safety issue, but at least strap on a GoPro when the planet is putting on a show. I’ve always wondered what lighting looks like under the surface - well that might be extreme.
Congrats with your dingy and new OB.🤘 Now off to make some chaps for the dingy as it will last a lot longer! Don't forget to rinse the OB with fresh water after use or before a long storage time like a crossing.. Great episodes !
I imagine a future where a 70' clipper evolves into an extraordinary Teulu Tribe cruiser, leaving behind the days of GPS mocking at 6 knots while heading uphill.
I watch many sailing channels and ya'lls is one of my favorites. This episode is really good. Your videography and editing is getting better and better. Keep up the good work. Congrats on the ZODIMERC
I've said this before, but all y'all sailors must be full of magic. Being on land I have no compression of how y'all sail into a head wind; therefor, y'all must be full of magic.
Hi guys, congratulations on the new Dingey and outboard mercury are okay but Yamaha are better anyway that’s your choice you’ll get plenty of use out of it , from Australia 🇦🇺
We are following it to the T. 10 hours of varied speed. Low revs, high revs and everything in between. We just haven’t shown the stuff of us going really slowly because it’s not as interesting 😆
@@TeuluTribe lol should have mentioned the relevant stages, as the impression given was straight out of the rate, and straight to high rpm., which people may be tempted to copy - I've seen too many people doing that anyway a,ong the way, and end up with a very unreliable Outboard - all of mine are presently getting close to 30 years old, and are still functioning reliably, and just need De Winterising. Good to hear it, and Best Wishes. Bob. 👍❤️ eta, I, a tally looking forward to getting a 4 stroke outboard, and my 2 strokes will be spare backups to lend out if people need time to fix problems with theirs, as my spares don't actually take up mu h space- 4 x Tohatsu 3.5 hp, and one Yamaha 4 hp, handy for Tenders. 👍
@08:52 That looks nice! Have Fun!👴👌🤗 What I don't like is the lack of a good, certified lock. Everybody will like that outboard! Also it's good practice to either paint the cover in a totally other color, or at least put a fitting cloth cover over most of it. Two reasons: A lock slows thiefs down, they don't like that, and will look for a easier target. A dodgy repaint and/or an cloth cover disguises the age, and the exact type. It's a shame, but necessary.👴🤷♂
you guys really have no idea what a truly spectacular mountain coastline is until you get up to BC maybe next year? Maybe invest in a couple of wet suites for that. Cheers and stay safe
Ok new dingy /tug... 👍🏼 If your heading out into a chop or weather or a bar crossing keep your cabin hatch closed .. saw a guy get caught by three waves on a bar crossing ... Nothing either side but his monhulls nose stuck in the water flooded the cockpit and went through his open companionway twice ..it smashed open his clearplastic dodger screen. And filledcthe cockpit flooded down his doraids as well that were facing forwards.. because it was a clear sky day. 😳 I dont know if youve seen them but Madds and Eva are trying to buy a pretty damaged Catamaran in Florida but they have a complex paper trail to sort out first being the US.
Thanks for sharing your experience! It’s a great reminder to always be cautious when crossing bars or dealing with rough weather. It's a super exciting project they are taking on, I can't wait to watch the endless sanding ahead of them 😂
Hello, how are the British guys from the sailboat Teulu? Very good from now on you will no longer call it Dinghi, now it is called the Zodiac and the Mercuri is a delight but it SWALLOWS FUEL like a V8 P.S. I already knew that Zach wanted to race in a Grand Prix. Congratulations ❤❤
I was wondering if you two had a pair of night vision binoculars to see other boats around you in an anchorage at night or in a thunderstorm, or even when you are entering a port/marina at night? The technology has come a long way in the past few years, and they are relatively inexpensive compared to the risk of not knowing if another vessel breaks loose in the middle of a storm and is barreling down on your boat.
Was the polypipe you used for the fuel line? It's only suitable for water and I'd imagine it would melt and bits of plastic will end up in the engine. Only concerned not criticising love the videos
BE CERTAIN TO HAVE A WAY TO SECURE THE OUTBOARD TO YOUR DINGHY - DON'T JUST DEPEND ON THE TWO TWISTED KNOBS AND CHECK EACH TIME YOU GET IN YOUR LITTLE BOAT . I'VE PERSONNALY SEEN TWO O/B's GO INTO THE DRINK .
