What an incredible trip Kev. Surreal landscapes and great weather to walk in. Looked chilly overnight! And also so well documented and presented too. Cheers
Excellent, if chilly weather there for camping, Kev. I scooted up the Havelock last summer up to Veil Bivvy, which is also worth a look. You get to see Growler Hut along the way, but the Havelock has been really savaged by those floods a few years ago. Wasn't easy to cross on my lonesome as it's so steep. Your video showed more spectacular country, and I hope to follow in your footsteps up the Lawrence, once it's warmed up a whole lot.
Thanks, GJ. I've never been up to Veil Bivvy, but it looks like there are plenty of huts to investigate on the way up the Havelock River. Yet another trip to add to the growing list.
@@samandkevsoutdooradventures St Winifreds is full of character, but Erics is probably in excess. Try Murphys if you want some video with some adventure, but not too much. We are fortunate to live in a country with such good facilities in a spectacular backdrop. I enjoy your and Sams's videos. Inspiring stuff.
Thanks, Hobbit Hiking. I'm not sure about the temperature as I didn't have a thermometer. The pot of water I left outside was, however, very frozen, and I had to attack it with my hiking pole to break up the ice. Look at this link www.citscihub.nz/Phil_Bendle_Collection:Dracophyllum_uniflorum_(Turpentine_Bush) for Turpentine Bush. You will probably have seen it before as it's fairly common.
