Thanks for a great video. I have been thinking about purchasing a lavvu for a while now and have just bought a small one from military mart on the strength of this video. I have bought it for my sons birthday and can't wait to get back into wild camping again after at least 10 years. Really looking forward to getting my son into wild camping and spending some precious time with him (away from his xbox). Keep up the good work as we both enjoy watching yours and bushwacker mans videos.

thats some dutch oven I we got 4 of them I love them! before those lavvu got poplar I should bought on they remind me of the old forster tents we had back in my old boy scouts day as boy!

Great vid. Look forward to the next one. The dutch oven is awesome altho maybe a bit heavy for backpacking. From every vid I've seen, yes the Lavvu tent is certainly the warmest for winter camping. btw, You probably knew this and forgot, those little metal loops on tents for pegs and guy ropes, are called grommets.:)

Hi Becky, you might like to try lavuu inside out with wings on inside especially with hot tent you will notice too the armholes don't let rain in as easily too. I just modded mine, enjoying your vids
Another nice video! Just like I commented on bushwackers video. I love mine dutch oven, if I could get pass the weight. I would only use it. So many different meals you can make from it. Just like the chicken you made. What ever was left over you could turn it into a stew. Great way of cooking I think. Glad yall had a great time.

That was a very nice trip you had. Some serious Glamping : ) I noticed Buster had the right plan, tucked away in your lavvu. I must say not bad cooking for a youngun lol. Alas my tent camps are over for several months as it's - 42 here with wind chill in the minus 50's and with waist deep snow. I will be videoing an ice fishing trip this week ...if I can keep the cameras from freezing up. If you want to try some rugged outdoors come over for a trip to visit. lol All the best to you Becky and to Bushwacker Man. Paul
@@GirlOutdoors Hi Becky Yes ice fishing is fun. On cold days we have our own little fishing shacks with wood stoves to warm up and cook. Some can even be over nighters. If you check out my channel you will see life in the cold here in Canada. I am going fishing this coming Monday , jan. 28 and will have a video for the following week end. All the best to you Becky

dinner looks yummy! a friend of mine often uses the dutch oven open as a "high pan" direct on/in the fire, so it is kind of versatile. b t w: in Bremen/Germany there is a brewery called "Becks" :)

if you use cord for the pegs, will there be a gap between the ground and the lavvu, where cold air can enter, how to avoid this to happen.? it looked like a really cool trip you had there, liked the long eyes that Bushwaker man and Buster had before dinner, the chicken looked very good, you know how to enjoy life outdoors. Thank you! It is the medium one . No not really, it is quite tight but I would recommend getting the large one as there is more room and not a lot of difference in weight :)

Looked for some lavvus in the US and not finding any available on the surplus sites, a lot sold out. Some on eBay but not decent prices. :( hopefully find one one day lol

Hi, I used to live near Surrey and there is a lot of Open Access land there. These are areas you can roam around (so long as you respect nature and any property) and are marked on Ordnance Survey maps, I use Bing maps to look as they have a free OS option and then look on google earth to see what the areas look like, i.e. woods, scrub, open, etc. Hope this helps.
