Couple of good friends you have there Stewart, they couldn't even say goodbye when they left, you helped build Colins channel and it shows in a lot of your videos with him that he doesn't respect you and ignores you a lot of the time, he's a leech. Nice to see you back mate.
The place is beautiful and should be comfortable even lying on the grass. The wind seems to be a bit strong, and the tent may be blown away if the tent is not set up properly.
Marco - he was my barber a few years ago. We use to talk about you Stewart and your mad adventures. Can't believe he oot with you no' and has a starring role in you video. Tell him Paul with the Discovery says Hi and that I've got a heid of hair like a burst bush.
The two main uses for tents are protection from weather and mosquitoes. A tent with no floor does neither and only serves as a complicated tarp which I have no use for.
Hi KJ6EAD, It not a memorial its a Trig point. Used back in the day for accurately mapping the coast line and mountains. No longer used. Apparently the UK has over 6000 of these!! Cairns themselves are very seldom memorials, they are there to either a signify the summit , or more usually, as a way marker - especially useful in the snow and you're walking a ridge. I see these often maintained by the local mountain rescue etc. as it stops people accidently falling over the edge.
@@paulrankin9806 Thanks. That makes the Scots a little less crazy to me. We have geodetic survey control markers all over too but they're usually just a round metal plate mounted in a shallow hole in the existing rock.
