After realizing that a governed motor cannot reach its full capacity using a super 30 series driver, I mount it in Hot Balls Johnson for a fair comparison with a standard 30 series!!

So the 30 series works best under 5k, the super 30 series 5k or over; is that an accurate assumption? And then what about to 40 series and the juggernaut? Plus can't you just change the weights in the things for different rpm operating ranges?

I have to look into that on the weights for the super 30 series. Yes, if the motor can't bang 5k+ on the drop of the throttle you won't get anywhere quickly or maximize the use of the motor with a stock juggernaut.

What size jet did you in the carb?

I start with a 35-37. No governor maybe a 38 at the most before these carbs get sloppy.

Did you align the sheaves of the torque converter? I could be wrong, but looks like the driver needs to be a bit more outboard.

I just ran it how it was but yes it does indeed need a couple. I usually run at least 2 just to cut down on the "ping". Only comforting thing about the ping on this thing is that when coming off the throttle on a straightaway you still know the driver is attached to the motor. Lol, its a little on the loud side. Perhaps I'll look more into that stock high flow muffler the Wild Cat 223 came with.....🤔 then again, I plan on getting inside this motor to build it for that Trailmaster. This was more so to give it a fair comparison to a Predator 212 Hemi. The 223 is the same bore but comes with a stroked crank from the factory. If you add a longer rod and a different piston you get a lot of useable torque even on the stock cam with 18 pound springs. Builders are shaving the head something in the vicinity of .06in with hopes of compression pushing 8k+ .....but with that longer stroke.... I'm hoping I can get some real power without going into all that but we'll see.

So does this have more power than the 212r MKII? They claim the MKII has 12hp.

I have two 212Rs. It's a hard comparison. The 212R is based more on compression and rpm where the Wildcat is stroke and flow. Are you planning on building it or leaving it stock? Stock the 212R takes it. Add a rod, flywheel and 660 carb....that Wildcat is a freight train!!

The 212R is capable of 12hp. Not stock. I'd say my 212R with a billet rod, governor removed, 22s and 660 carb is 12hp. "The cam is good for producing up to 12hp" would be a more accurate statement.

Woah cool! Thanks so much. I'm always up to something. I have another idea for a mini bike, the Trailmaster isn't finished, engines to build, A LOT of maintenance, little weldy weld, pinch of fabs, test piloting and lots of the great outdoors to come!! Plus I do dumb stuff that other people don't and sometimes it works out. Sometimes it's just dumb. I'm good at it though. Years of practice....🤗

I feel like the Super 30 shifts a lot slower and in a narrower range than the Comet 30. The Comet 30 needs lower gearing to avoid overloading the engine vs the Super 30, which can tolerate higher gearing. Put a smaller sprocket on with the Super 30 and see what you get...

I think that's the problem I'm having on my 196 mm80! I'm running 10/54 with the Juggernaut and it revs out way before its done accelerating. Superb engine response and control but it gets tight up top.

I would take one of these over a Predator 212, more torque at a lower rpm and overall power. Throw a $10 coil, ARC flywheel, intake, jetted carb and header on it and that's what is in this video! A Predator with the same "stock" mods would get smooshed.

Dont forget the Tilitson race coil because the Wildcat taps out at around 4000 RPM with stock coil.

Heck yeah! First thing I did to the Wildcat was an ARC flywheel and a clone coil. I've loved it ever since.
