In this installment, we pull out the seats. Remove the four bolts from beneath the backseat and two bolts for the seatbelt. The backseat doesn't slide through the backdoors too easily in our van so we went through the side door. To do that, we removed one section of the backseat. 2-person job no minimize effort and damage.

Holy moly. This totally discouraged me from buying this van to convert. I, a 76 yo female, could not have removed that back seat! What a job. The van then looked so big....until your dog jumped in! Then the true perspective showed the low ceiling and space once again shrunk. So happy I watched this as my buying thoughts have totally changed. Would love to see yours finished out. Just found this today.

Thanks for the video! I've been looking all over to see how hard it would be to remove. Looks like quite a job. I have a 2k dodge ram conversion van and the seat is murder on a back, let alone 2 adults! Time to go. I definitely think I'll need some rust saturation to break my bolts loose. Wish me luck and maybe I'll see yall on the blue ridge parkway. We are in the fancy gap VA area. Take care! Happy van life!

Thanks for this video. I think it's the ONLY one like it. I'm deciding after my maiden voyage if I'm going to take mine out. I LOL'd at your exhaustion... I Feel yer pain, when I took out my two middle row seats! At over 60 and female.. I thought I was gonna DIE, but so proud when the last stubborn bolt came out!! Keep on Truckin'!

I've never removed the rear seat/bed from a conversion van before either and mine is a ford explorer conversion so yours was not the same ordeal. However I think it would be easier to return the bed to the seating position before disconnecting the power as it would have been easier to remove from inside the van

I have the exact same Statecraft. Fixin to remove seats and add small kitchen/storage. Keeping bed for now and adding mattress. Heading to Tennessee in 3 weeks....thanks for vid!!!

Coltin Calloway Made it to Dayton Tn and did great. Gas milage was about 16mpg. Enjoy your journey in fixing up your van

oh one thing you might want to look at is the date stamp on the spare tire. if it's over 5 years old might want to replace it anyway.

I’m surprised how easy it was to take out that middle seat… all you did was slide that bar back and remove it? I’m going to try that on my g20

I have a 91 Chevy G20 conversion van. I've removed the queen couch/bed, and two middle seats. I'm stuck at trying to get the front seats upgraded to swivel seats. I can't find any DOT approved swivel adapters (without pedestals and with 8x11 inch bolt patterns. If I haven't watched vid 3, but if you ever get their hope you do a video!

I was wanting to do that too. If your rear captain chairs swivel, would that plate mount not fit the front passenger side seat mounting plate? You could just exchange the mounting plates. That is if they aren't welded to the frame.

@@hayjust1 Sorry for the long delay in reply =) So the front seat has a custom lock box/safe under it that is bolted to the floor of the van. On top of the lock box is the typical 8x11inch bolt spacing pattern. I basically need a swivel adapter that is 8x11 inch bolt pattern...and I can't find one anywhere on line. I could probably have one custom welded. Or I could weld an swivel adapter to the lock box...
