To catch wild fish, place the clear bucket in the water on it's side, use the net to drive them toward the bucket. They go right in, as they don't see the bottom of the bucket until it's too late. Cool video. Thanks!
Besides the Mountain Mullet you collected (agnostomus monticola), the two fish next to each other were Awaous banana or River Goby. You most likely observed several species of shrimp, but I definitely say Macrobrachium faustinum. I totally never knew there was someone else hiking the gut. Been studying these creatures for 6 years. Finally finishing up my M.S at UVI. If you ever want to take a hike let me know sometime and look me up Gut Life. Awesome video!
I am always shocked how few people have good videos of catching wild fish local to their areas. It is fine or even good to not take them home. I just like to see people out there in small bodies of water pulling fish and showing them to me on video. Then if they are common and there are no laws against it I am fine with them keeping them but am just as happy when they are safely returned. I really like it when people use small nets rather than some sort of industrial set up too :)
Very cool video. I really enjoy watching these nature walk videos. It's fun to see what's in our backyards. I love the goby. Thanks for sharing your adventure.💚🐠💚
I really enjoyed this video, thank you for making another wild exploring video, it kind of satisfies my hunger and curiosity for the times when Im driving down the road and want to go explore a flooded ditch! Possible video idea/request: gopro underwater footage of that brackish biotope! Keep up the great work and keep feeding our curiosity and jealousy :)
Wow the water is so clear. Collecting here in Florida is always done in such dark water. Those are some pretty mullets you found, look forward to the next one.
So if you smell Old Spice on a man...RUN! Lol. Okay the adventure series is really cool. Maybe a live stream with super chats will get you to Venezuela to look for the ever elusive possibly extinct endler? Just a thought...haha
I just "accidentally" rewatched that video and noticed the view count, and thought, "how did he get that many views in 2 days?!" Then (sad senior moment here:) I read the first comment that said, difference is between wild guppies and domesticated guppies is domesticated swim right into the net, and I thought wow that's genius, annnnnnnd then I realized I said that back in August, I completely forgot I said that! Ok back to this video :)
