Join me for a chilled sunset forage across the fields of South Yorkshire in search for edible plants, flowers and trees!
Please remember to never eat any wild food, be it plant, fruit or fungi, unless you are 100% certain of its identity and always cross check your resources. Always do research before taking herbs internally, especially if you are pregnant, have severe allergies or a weakened immune system. Finally, remember to take only what you need from places of abundance, and always leave plenty for the wildlife too.
If you’d like to follow along for more foraging and forest garden content, you can join me over on;

My favorite part of burdock is the stalk. You don't have to dig, it doesn't give people gas, and once you peel it, it's a tender tasty vegetable!

That is awesome! I’ve only ever tried the stalk raw with a nibble and haven’t spent any time trying to cook with it - how do you prepare yours?

@@danniinthewild I usually put it in a stir fry, sometimes I'll add it raw to a pasta dish or something like that.

Your knowledge is truly exceptional Danni ....The rhododendron is a nightmare in the snowdon region it's growing all over the hills and literally tearing them down rock by rock in some areas all you can see is rhododendrons they also have a type of fungus that grows in and around the areas they are rooted and is toxic to other plants they are pretty and the bees like the flowers ......Thanks Danni keep them vids coming 👌👍🌿🐦🌼🍀🌷

hey.. in the field near me in the UK i found some things that look like a wild version of beans or peas.. are they edible? how do i know exactly what it is? they are in pods and kinda small.. much smaller than a supermarket pea... i dunno if they are full grown or a long way off.. just wondering if u could eat them.. say if camping or in the apocalypse etc?

Leaf smells horrible when crushed, a lanky Bush. Cream fragrant flowers are unmistakable now in Early June. In the autumn deep purple berries to make into a syrup for Winter with honey and cloves
