In this video I take you to the beautiful country side of Lake Sonoma in Geyserville CA. This is a renowned hot spot for wild pigs. Just north west of Santa Rosa, this prime hog country allows for some of the best public land pig hunting available in California. Lake Sonoma is managed by the USACE and special registration is required for entrance. Most of the good land is only accessible by boat, and there are ALOT of hills! Watch as I show you some sign that hog are in the area, as well as the beauty of this magical land!

Ya they said over the phone that every camp site was flooded so we were just going to find a spot off shore but we came across that campsite on an island lol. We got lucky

Great content. Have you done the lake Sonoma guided hunt? In your own opinion will it be worth it?

I have not. Those hunts are never guaranteed usually. Unless he has access to private land it’s hard for me to say it’s worth it. We put in 2 full 12 hour days of scouting and saw lots of sign but no pig. But if you have the means give it a shot!

P Danny so we took the boat out to the fingers of the lake and tried to get to more difficult to reach places. Figured we’d have a better chance there. We were late in the season so the whole place was pretty washed out of pigs already

Good question! I use onX hunting maps. It shows you private land, BLM, national forest, it’s super helpful.

Tons of sign, but I was late in the season and hunting pressure was high they were all out on private land. I’m gonna try again this upcoming season at Sonoma

@@connorj.shular7176 No, I personally have not had a kill out of their. The group I go with though did kill a bore out of there last year I think which was 2018 may have been 2017 though. They found a solo bore roaming around during the day.

Shane Doyle my buddy hit one but couldn’t recover it, and when I went we hunted hard all day and found a single pig, a easy 400 lb boar. But with the wind direction and the peninsula he was on we had no hope of getting within 50 yards and he spooked at 70 and walked off
