Best vehicle to have, light but tough, lots of higher rpm power. Once you get it up into the 3k revs and above it provides all the power you need all the way to 5250-5300 rpms. On the later iterations of 2rz a set of higher flow injectors, an intake and exhaust provide ample performance without sacrificing fuel economy. Only downside is the weight unbalanced chassis (which is easily remedied with a fiberglass or carbon fibre hood, repositioning of the battery to the rear, etc) and the poor suspension in the rear e.g. leaf springs (which can be upgraded easily enough)

California needs to have some other states teach them how to end a pursuit. Doesn't matter if it's local city, county or state... they just allow it to drag on for excessive amounts of time, zigzagging all over, burning up expensive resources like helicopters & all the fuel and commonly like a dozen police vehicles & all the gas & wear n tear on tires/brakes wasted playing cat n mouse... They post videos of all this precision driving skills etc.. but in the real world. They allow the criminals to run the show and drag out out.. it's not uncommon for pursuits to be allowed to go over an hour or more.... most of them suck at performing a PIT & wind up damaging their own cruiser or can't actually do it. Cali is the king of police chases... cause they won't stop them.
