Steve Miller Band is an American rock band formed in 1967 in San Francisco , California The band is managed by Steve Miller on guitar.
Lyrics: Steve McCarthy
Ooh, mama
well look what's been done
You can only see the stars
after a setting sun
You run for the money
You don't even know about wild mountain honey
Come on mama
heal this lonesome man
Grow the tree of wholeness
in this desert land
Come on children
now learn how to run
by heaven, the stars, the moon and the sun
Come on papa
your end is the means
don't trade your love and goodness
for the golden machine
You run for the money
You don't even know about wild mountain honey...
I prematurely uploaded this video before I completed my homework...It should say the Steve Miller Band..and, I did not give credit to the lyrcist...Steve McCarthy...not cooL...
I take no credit for this production other than my interpretation that I suppose has been in my head and heart ever since the first time I heard this now, many years ago...but, almost seems like yesterday...
It is my hope that by doing this...that this classic Steve Miller Band tune will be around for years to come for our childrens' children...Thanks RU-vid for the room to express our love for these great tunes.

I remember as a child having my mother playing this vinyl while she baked bread in the kitchen, me in my 6 year old sundress, long golden curls, with a daisy chain crown, spinning circles feeling as free and innocent as a child could feel..

Steve Miller @ wild mountain honey + Gram Parsons @ hickory wind +Nitty gritty dirt band @ Rippling matters,, , helped me realize I didn't belong in the city, but up in the mountains. I left Los Angeles , Orange county , as soon as I was old enough to know better . I was 17 in 1973, got in with the bus people, hippies, and the bikers. Man, what a ride. Lived in a tee pee between 2 creeks. up in Butte county, in the Sierra Nevada...

This psychedelic day trip floats like a dandelion seed on a midsummer breeze. Dreamy keyboard melodies ebb and flow with the surge of synthetic surf. Waves of sound fall on the listener; a blanket of autumn leaves. Wind stirs the dust at sunset.

It tooks me back to my trip to Kasjmir, sleeping in a handcrafted houseboat near the Himalaya. With silence on the lakes of Shrinagar in the year 1992. It was in the winter period, but in summer it must be a paradise. You have to see that to believe, but now its a warzone...sadly

I love this one, though I've never owned it. When it came out, a friend and I were camping for a week at Raccoon Mountain Campground near Chattanooga. On the side of the mountain was the first water slide that we were ever on. There was a speaker on a light pole at the top of the slide. The guy played this album over and over again. We tried to wear that water slide out.

i remember this song when in jr.high steve mccarty wrote it and was always playing it then he sold it to steve. steve only wrote one song for steve miller but his brother chris mccarty wrote quite few hits for steve. we all grew up in the same neighborhood. i played drums for steve's younger brother then later played the guitar but never wanted to get involved in the business with the millers.i valued my friendship more.to this day we remain friends think because i never wanted anything from him

H.H.H, right, a great wake-up. Hard to have a crummy take on the day with this as the opening theme to your days' soundtrack. Also a good 'wake-up' in a broader sense. It can be easy to loose sight of simple beauty and wonder in such a bustling world.
