I used to work on a nitro funny car pit crew so everything about this car looks almost the same, except that little blower is only about half the size of what we ran. 70+lbs of boost
Wheelie bar was set too low. It was unloading the rear tires and that is what pulled the car to the side. We ran our funny car at the sand drags one time, and three years later when we sold it, we were still finding sand on the trailer floor!
@@fnafplayer6447 Sand gets thrown up into the bodywork where it lodges in the seams, it also ended up in the parachute and as a result it got into the pack too. If you were asking about results, we made three rounds and lost because I jumped the start. (It was my first time driving a nitro car and I thought I was slow on previous run.)
Northern Europeans run 4wd versions across shallow marshes in old slednecks snowmobile vids. Skimming across the top. Also they hillclimb with the trucks. We're all mad here my friends.. lol
Miss sand drags and mud bug drags. Where I was born and raised Northern Saratoga County we had an awesome place every weeke d a d the annual big player's tournament. Miss those fun days now old an sleepy. Feel like sleepy Joe 😅
What size is that blower?? Omg it's huge. Assuming used for regular top fuel also. Unbelievable the torque and the exhaust note actually sounds good mixed with the blower whine
Needs some kind of flex somewhere...rake the chassis and give it some way to soak up the hit. Or, adjust the clutch so the leave is softer. It'll rip when it's tuned!!
I have that same wheelie bar tire on my wheel barrow at home. Never knew it was a drag racing inspired,.....or wheel barrow inspired drag racing....idk
As cool as these sand rails are, racing to 330' is the let down for the crowd... If they raced to the 660' it would gel a lot better with the majority of drag racing enthusiasts... It would make the times more relatable as well...
300ft has been the standard length for sand drags since it’s inception. There are a few places that run 500ft and some that run 1/8th mile (in Australia), but the issue is how out of control the faster machines get even at the 300ft mark. Sand presents unique challenges.
🤠 Does it do anything other than straight lines? Why not put a full "Odyssey-like" cage on it and go wild elsewhere offroad or on dunes? It's like offroad drag racing, but man I want to see this thing squirrelin' around. 😆
I guess? I mean.. Umm.. It looks cool sounds cool. Is that what it's designed for? Two second runs? I'm just new to whatever this is so asking is this like dirt drag having and two seconds is normal?
