I must state I was stating hippodrome was better back when Winery was bugged. It used to not always give the bonus. Plus in dominion it’s about castle armies and efficient generalist armies. Hippodrome sadly doesn’t match for that.
I like the idea behind the kings to encourage more aggressive play, but I still think the bonus population needs to be toned down a bit to 25-30 per king kill. 50 per kill just leads to too much snowballing. Plus destroying a players last landmark (and therefore eliminating them) should automatically kill their king and give you the kill, too much cheese with people running/hiding their kings when they know they’ve lost.
I may be in the minority here, and maybe from a gameplay perspective its fine, but I find that the kings lead to some really anticlimactic games. I dont enjoy watching sort of the same song and dance every time of someone accidently getting their king killed and someone finding a random fat bonus. Its funny the first few times, but gets old quickly IMO. Sure it encourages early fighting. but from a viewer perspective I think it is way less entertaining, at least for me.
Hey Turin ... very fond of your content ... My question is: I seem to remember there were all sorts of elaborate casting/championships in TW Warhammer 2 (I fondly remember you and ItalianSpartacus) ... very entertaining ... Howcome we do not see any of that this time around? Disclaimer: I do not regularly follow gaming newsstreams ....
Back in WH2 CA briefly hired someone who cared a lot about supporting multiplayer, that's how we got those big event at the CA headquarters. I think ItalianSpartucus just doesn't care about total war anymore. The games are still better than ever before though!
For his overall sneakiness and oppurtunism, I dub Ezra...Ezrabus of the Word Bearers Legion. Only because I couldn't make the name fit into Staracream.
