In today's Aussie Garage Interview, we catch up with Gino again check out his 1966 XP Ford Falcon Coupe. As we have come to expect with Gino, this car presents beautifully. It's painted in Wild Violet and it really pops in the sun. Gino first saw this vehicle cruising down the road in Perth with his Mustang and then chatted to owner at the lights. He said if that one comes up for sale, then he would buy it and fair enough 3 weeks later, he found the car up for sale. He contacted the owner and then brought the car that weekend.
He has only added three things to the XP Coupe since owning it and these were a Gilmer Belt, Left hand Side Mirror and the Elvis doll. it has Welded Racing Rims for 5.5" on the front and 6.5" on the rears which give the car a perfect stance. And once again the Wild Violet Paint is perfect for the rounded body of the XP Coupe.
Its running a 5lt Windsor V8 engine that has been stroked to a 347 V8 engine with Scat Cranks, 4 Barrel Holley, MSD ignition system, Gilmer Drive Belt with a C4 Gearbox and stand V8 Borg Warner diff. He is hoping to upgrade this into a 9" diff shortly as well. The engine bay has a Fire Suppression System rigged into the car in case of fire, which is great to have. Plus, It sounds great cruising around streets of Perth.
The interior is retrimmed in a light grey and has had an XF front split bench seat with fold down armrest fitted. The dash has been kept original and has a couple of after market gauges tucked down under the dash to monitor the engine. The stereo is a old school radio with modern internals.
As always it was great to hang out with Gino and see another of his classics. He truly has a passion for these old cars and its great he is keeping them in great running order. I cant wait to see what he shows us next. Thanks for Watching.
