Good video great information. A 280 Ackley with a faster twist barrel and a heavy for caliber bullet does do some phenomenal things downrange. Now I'm an ethical game Hunter and I wouldn't take an animal past 300 to 350 m. And the 280 actually has ballistics to spare at that range. It's a wildcat that's got ballistics and barrel life almost in a perfect harmony with each other.
I love Nathan Fosters books. I believe he is a modern day father to long range hunting and mountain shooting. I believe no recent one person has done as much as he has for long range hunting! US fire arms people seem to not give him his credit due him. Not sure why…
I've been considering a 338 Ackley improved. Someone said in a forum that if I fire form using 270 Winchester brass that I get a longer neck for bullet seating. Is there any truth to that? Are there other cartridges you could use to make a 338-06ai that would fire form to give you a longer nap
P.S. why cant you guys answer people questions about your Savage Axis mag adapter in that video? I purchased a Gen2 and am not experienced enough to know what to grind off. It was your install video but you didnt show or at least point out what lip or catch to grind off the poly stocked Axis One's? You could be a great person and show the entire process in a video? From start to finish which all other companies do? It would be greatly appriciated?

IF I GOT RICH, I WONDER IF I WOULD GO TO AN EVEN 6-06, A 6/284, A 270 WSM AND I WONDER IF I WOULD NOT BE A VICTIM OF THE MARKETING USA, I ASK YOU WHO SHOOT SO MANY AND VARIOUS CARTRIDGES, WOULD IT BE WORTH IT??? Well i personally wouldnt go past 400yrds max on a shot with any cartridge! Any farther away would be irresponsible! Also cruel! Unless i was using a much faster and a bit heavier cartridge ,only then would i even think about a shot at farther then 400yrds when hunting. Now if it was in a tactical situation such as war or conflict then this no longer applies. You just need to remove the combatant from the field so then who cares if its going to be a kill shot. Back to hunting i just cant be so reckless as to shoot past 400 max yrds with any caliber or weight of caliber!
