The Wildcat Fire is burning in the desert north of Rio Verde, Arizona, and grew quickly Saturday to 5,000 acres. Here are the latest details, reaction and forecast.
That sucks that the fire is so close to many people's homes. 5 miles ain't that far with fires. They can jump a mile very quickly. What type of barricade are they using to try and protect those homes.? Are they going to use controlled burns?
It looks like the fire is real close to those homes by the horse staging area. It's kind of centered to the east of Wildcat OHV, over by that part of Camp Creek at Bartlett Dam Rd where all the rental SxS cars go. I go there myself sometimes and was wondering what fire conditions were lately. It's nice out there. A lot of saguaro and ocotillo and red dirt in parts.
