I have a few Wildcats and rate them highly, but I'll have to go elsewhere for my next moderator since I need a forward-mounted centrefire one. Hopefully they'll come out with one at some point.

Great video, really helpful practical advice. Which of these mods would be the quietest for a 20 inch Tikka TAC 3 in 308, the 12 ? Any idea what barrel diameter and thread I will need? I haven't bought the Tikka yet as I am still waiting for my FAC to be renewed 5 months on !

The Predator 12 will be the quietest, but the Evolution is the best choice. You'll need it in 5/8x24 with a 21mm bush. Get in contact with Blue Fieldsports and they'll sort you out.

Do you know if the cub would fit a Kriss defiance DMK22 LVOA? Or should I look at a whisper? Worried the extended rail would get in the way... Thanks, love the channel! 👍🏻

The cub might fit, it's doubtful the Whisper would. Either way, if you take it to Blue Fieldsports they have demo models on hand and they can check the fitting before ordering you one!

On a modular suppressor like the EVO, is it just the baffle that is ticketed on an FAC and needs to be bought in person? Can the remaining parts can be bought online and sent by post?

This is a particularly grey area! Our understanding is that the fully assembled moderator needs to be on your FAC, but the individual parts are not licensed and all of them can be posted individually.

Being that I live in the US and don't fully understand all of the nuances of British firearm law, I am curious if you can get the suppressors made here in the states over in the UK? I ask in ernest since acquiring one here almost requires sacrificing your first born, then waiting for a year after they cash the check for the $200.00 tax stamp.

Yes, suppressors are very easy for us in the UK and almost given by default to anyone wishing to have one! It's about the only firearms law that is more in our favour than in the US!

There is no such thing as ½x28UNF. The F at the end of UNF stands for "Fine" and the EF at the end of UNEF stands for "Extra Fine". These correlate to the numbers 20 and 28 respectively. UNF has a thread pitch of 20 and UNEF has a thread pitch of 28 so they are not interchangeable. You can read more about it on Wikipedia: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Unified_Thread_Standard

I have a predator 8 on my ruger American 243, can I just buy baffle internals to fit it to my new ruger American .308?

Not anymore unfortunately as the moderators now only come fully built and UK-proofed.

What do you mean when you say it is a "reflex" moderator?

Conners explains it in the video a bit further along, basically, the back 2/3 of the mod goes over the barrel so it doesn't stick out so far!

@@Elfin4 the expansion chamber sits behind the baffles and is over the barrel so it effectively reflects the expanding gasses backwards. In a non reflex design the gasses expand gradually after each baffle so to get the same internal volume you have to have more baffle stacks in front of the muzzle, by putting the expansion chamber behind the baffles rather than between them, you reduce the overall length of the rifle with a moderator fitted.

I bought the Club it's terrible... Its like a boy racer exhaust... Makes the report actually louder... Gave everyone a right laugh at the range. Except for the other lad that had just ordered one.

The worst moderator i have ever owned is the wildcat evolution hardly suppresses the sound at all wildcat should be embarrassed to sell such a poor product i will never buy another wildcat product waste of £300. 😠

Very sorry to hear that, we never get bad feedback on any of the Wildcat range. Have a read of the other comments on this video and you'll see how impressed others are with them! If you give @bluefieldsports a call they might be able to help work out what went wrong with yours.
