Last year I spent a week in Scotland making a film about bothies. This Easter I returned to make a new film with my friend Tem. We spent a glorious week zooming around the Highlands and Cairngorms. Our plan was to make a film about wilderness - its appeal and its importance - and at the same time try to introduce more people to the words of John Muir and the important work of the John Muir Trust.

This is my favorite video on the internet. Whenever I am feeling a bit "nerve-shaken and over-civilized" I watch this video. Thanks for sharing your adventures for those of us who need more dirt paths.

RU-vid routinely recommends videos for me to watch, but the vast majority are of no value and of little interest. Occasionally, however, a gem lies among them, and one of your videos was such a jewel. I am so grateful I have found your channel. The videos are extraordinarily beautiful, as is the accompanying commentary. Best of luck with your future projects. I'll be watching, because I'm sure great things lie ahead for you.

After a year of restrictions and lockdowns this video brings a tear to my eye. I long for the biting air of the mountains and especially that blown across the ancient crags of the bonnie north. Sublime video.

P.S. It would be good to know any particular sources for the words of John Muir or if it is more of an amalgamtion of quotes pulled, so eloquently i might add, together form various works.

I watched your raft down the river video and thought. I wonder what else he might have in his video list. Then this video starts to play and along with wonderfully shot video, there are eloquent thoughts that show that the person behind the videos has a way with words that stirs the listener to the deeper connection that occurs in the woods. I subbed and look forward to watching some of the back log of videos.

I live 10 miles from the mighty Sierra Nevada mountains here in California where I hike to my hearts content every waking moment I can get up there. Was this video filmed entirely in Scotland? Looks comparable to some of the many wonders I've seen here.

Also if it wasn't for John Muir being such a die hard explorer we wouldn't have many of the natural wonders that we have left untouched here in California today. Check out my RU-vid channel if you wouldn't mind having a peek at some of those wonders. Not as clean as your videos but beautiful just the same.
