Thanks for the video. Great looking kayak. I'm adding it to my list. The list currently contains 107 kayaks for me to try out. It's going to be a long, long season of test driving. Hopefully, I'll decide on one by salmon season. LOL

Thank you. Both Mirage drive and prop drive have pros and cons. Demo'ing is the best way to find out what would work best.

It looks like the opening for the pedal drive would needs some kind of cover or shield mounted to the pedal drive assembly. Even when the pedal drive is deployed, it looks like alot of water could splash up through the drive opening when going through waves or swells.

I have no experience with this kayak but I haven't heard any complaints of water splashing.

Most of the upper end pedal kayaks have high and low positioning but this one makes it easier to switch

This is looks pretty nice. Are you going to demo this one? It's neat how the peddles have be move up and down. On other prop drives you have to lift the drive up into the kayak. i hope one of these are at the next demo day I go to.

Bought it new last year with the Helix PD. The kayak is a solid tank, the stability on it is unreal, I have yet to feel sketched out kayak fishing the California Central Coast. A lot of my buddies have it as well, and it's a really easy platform to paddle, so punching through the waves is but as bad as other PD kayaks. I love it, but I have some complaints. The rudder system on mine has been unreliable, cables have snapped, or loosened while I've been out on the water. Maybe it's just mine but deploying and retracting the rudder is a chore with how much strength you need. Retracting the PD can be tricky since you have to align the pedals perfectly. Finally, the side and rear carrying handles have a lot to be desired.

Yeah every kayak has some flaws or that need improvement. My hobie revo is not an exception. What I really want to see is WS to make a pedal drive with their tarpon 140 and 160. There is no kayak on the market that competes with Revo 13 and Revo 16.

@@MooMooOutdoors Absolutely. I ALMOST went with the Revo 13 because of how it slices through the water, and it's narrow enough that I can straddle my legs like I used to with my old OK Trident 15. Everything has pluses and minuses, just a personal preference over what works for you.

$ 1000 for a drive.. it's getting a bit ridiculous. Not even hobie charge that mush.that is why I support companies like hoodoo , pelican and alk the ones that are getting there pedal drive in less than 1500

I'm not familiar with alk. After trying a couple of affordable pedal drive and seeing a few affordable pedal drive kayak, what I can say is that you get what you pay for. I'm not trying to knock affordable kayaks. I personally do like the price point and I really think there is market for it but at the same time the parts and built quality is not the same.
