Todd Personett I'm no where near you. I'm looking into kayak fishing. I found a Tarpon 160 near me. I think it's too long to haul around though. Yours is set up super nice. I can't believe you still have it. Good luck!
160 is great! Couple things to keep in mind.... The longer boats track through the water much better keeping a straighter line and making paddling more efficient. The trade off... The 160 while a stable rife with great secondary stability, really isn't stable enough for standing. The shorter boats tarpon boats are generally stable enough to stand in but don't track nearly as well. A rutter on a shorter boat can help. You can also buy or make your own floats to provide greater stability on the longer boats. Just kind of depends what kind of fishing you want to do. The older I get with some accumulated back issues makes me crave the ability to stand up if I'm out on thebwater for an extended period of time. Its a sit a top so at least you can move your legs out of the boat stretch them out etc and its easy to mount and dismount the boat in the water for a cool off depending on the size of the predators in your water and your level of fitness. Either way... Kayak fishing is a dream! Close to the water, quiet, intimate, solo. Its a unique and awesome experience!
Dee Davidson my understanding is weight capacity is 375lbs. It's a great boat. I'm only selling because I have 2 kids and solo trips are not really practical much any more. Ill miss it a lot because I made it just what wanted it to be. I don't have it on the market but I'd be happy to sell it to you if you're local. I'm looking to get $1000 for it.
