A cluster of wildfires scorched the Texas Panhandle on Wednesday, including a blaze that grew into one of the largest in state history, as flames moved with alarming speed and blackened the landscape across a vast stretch of small towns and cattle ranches.

Last May we had record rain that grew some tall grass and when it goes dormant in the winter the spring winds spread any fire that starts. We had another bad one in 2017.

Power lines, a farmer welding some fence, someone leaving their pickup running in tall dry grass, an unsecured trailer safety chain dragging on the highway, hot brakes on a semi-truck, etc....

How many times has it been splashed all over the news that beef prices were going to jump sky high and then this, an area that produces the most cattle. I suppose its also conspiricy theories that all these factories, turkey farms, chicken farms all just exploded or just cought on fire right! All those different fires just happened naturally right!

@HeatherRose2023 Isn't the important part of all of this the size of the wildfire? One person may have thrown a cigarette bud into dry grass, but no one deliberately put all that dry grass there. That part was nature's doing. It's so much dry grass that it's now the biggest wildfire in Texas history. And there seems to be more and more dry grass every year.

"5000 heads of cattle have been killed." Those cows were not locked up. They were free to run and escape from the fire. But if they were zapped by DEW (invisible microwave) from above, then it makes sense why they could not escape.

I guess sometimes you have to explain in simpleton language. Raking is done with big big machines called tractors with very big rakes that remove debris like dead branches that is put into a pile and burned. Sorry if the city idiots think its a hand rake so sad.
