Yes, please! Keep talking to us while watching the clips. Seeing you enjoying the little things, some of which I didn't realize, and 'reading their behavior' from your knowledge makes it even more interesting as a viewer. I had never paid attention to badgers strength, most of the times I see them as a funny, charming creature. So probably from now on I will try to notice that. Thanks for your time and I am looking forward to watching the next one, hopefully a ''long'' one too.

I enjoy very much watching the livestream as it happens. But hearing the respect and appreciation you have for nature in your voice makes it even more enchanting. I also love your accent and British English pronunciations. Please continue the narration! Thanks for letting us into your world! Ann in the US

I've been watching the livestream as lurker for about half a year now and I love it. Unfortunately I'm not on Facebook, so I would be happy if some of the special moments were also posted as little videos on this channel so that I can watch them again later. For example, the action of the badgers last night from about 3:20 to 3:40? Many thanks for beautiful, relaxing, educational and also funny moments to Morten and the whole livestream family and friends. Ps. it wouldn't be the same without Bjorn and his special personality.

Another fantastic video Morten! I really like the way you have thought about whether to have full screen of the live view, full screen of yourself or a little window in the corner. I think keep all three and change it around as you see fit to tell the stories you do so well. I think you could keep the clips a little shorter though. You should definitely keep commenting as you have great knowledge and interesting things to say. Can't wait for the next highlight video where you talk about the badger rolling the log into the pond!! :) :) I've been watching your channel and the live stream from the very start from Western Australia.

I enjoyed that very much. What a good idea to hear you commentate as we watch highlights. I hope you enjoyed making this video as much as we enjoyed watching so we can look forward to more through the year(s). Pica pica has given good tips in the comments on identifying the badgers. How I tell the male pheasants apart (we call all of them Steve) are by the thickness of the white ring around their necks and the gap at the front where the rings do not quite join. Thank you again for such a fun and relaxing video 🙂

Oh wow that's a lot of best moments to watch :D Let's give it a watch :) Re: identifying the badgers, we were in the dark for quite a while until someone more knowledgeable explained it would help if we looked at the shap of the ears. Belle (female)has very shapely and elegant ears like this ~ ~, Baldur has ears like this ^ ^ and Bodo (male) has one smaller ear on the left like this ^ i (he is also very bulky). This might not be entirely future proof especially with the cubs growing, but it is working very well so far. For people who are in the FB group there is an ID chart in the mammal log. Gitte also regularly posts a link in the chat to the backup log for anyone who isn't in the group. At 16:41 the cub is actually playing with Bodo (the male ;) ) -- note the ear 20:19 is also Bodo You could hear a raven in the clip with the deer. Have you ever seen it? Really liked watching and some very useful facts :) I assumed you were going to cut together some clips which would have been fine, but I really liked this concept along with the comments as well. Enjoy your holiday! Edit: martens didn't feature in the video, but they are identified by their bibs. (Also pics in the aforementioned log)

I have many trail cams set up in my woods, some next to a badger sett and fox den - I also spend many evenings in the spring watching them coming and going. To answer you question about the identification of badgers, I have found the easiest way to tell them apart is by the shape of their tails. When they are young, they tend to have very similar tails - bushy and healthy but as they get older and they get into fights and perhaps have bouts of ill health, their tails can change shape. One badger I followed for a couple of years I called Pintail, as his tail had lost all its fur (he had been in a fight), another badger had a kink in her tail and the end was turned to the left. Generally, I have found that badgers with big bushy tails are younger than the ones with thinner tails. I also find sometimes they can have patches on their backs which are lighter - this shows up better in night time black and white video - and some can have quite individual patterns but when the badgers moult for the winter this is often lost.

Morten, in the video you talked about jays that collect nuts and hide them in the forest. Squirrels do that too. However, there is interaction between the two species. I observed a pair of jays in the neighbor's garden, who in turn observed a squirrel and also followed it. I guess the jays wanted to know where the squirrel buries its nuts. I bet they want to raid the hideouts later (maybe in winter).

Hej Morten. You asked for some feedback regarding this video, so brace yourself, here it comes 😉 I really like the idea of showing highlights on this channel. However, personally I think shorter videos would be better, using a strong thumbnail and title to attract more viewers. Why not use a theme for each separate video? There is so much footage about all the different species on your farm! Including the cute little mouse 😃. I can even imagine that a short video would be nice for young children to watch before they go to bed. The commenting is a nice asset because you are both pleasing to the eye as well as the ear 😉. You don’t need to talk the whole time, though. Sometimes the footage says it all. And of course it needs to stay doable and pleasant for you to make. Hope this can be of any use. Thank you for creating an animal sanctuary on your land and for sharing it with us. Greetings from Belgium.

Best moments was really nice Morten! Like the commenting. It was a bit low on volume at times so maybe next time you could make it so that the volume of your voice is just a tiny bit louder then the sounds of the clips? and that if you want to let us hear the sounds of the video wait with the comment or give it before you play a specific part of a video? But love the best moments with the comment. Maybe you could also do a funny moments video and/or do a video with clips about one particular species? Maybe every once in a while switch between video's with and video's without comment (depending on your time you can then decide which kind you make) 😉 As to how often a video should be placed on the channel...I'll leave that up to you. It shouldn't take up time that you can spend on other important and nice things just to please viewers. Your life, your choice ☺💚

I really enjoyed the video and I love that you comment on what we are seeing, it gives the videos a more personal touch. I would suggest making use of videos (if possible), that others have shared on face book as well. There are some clever people on there who have captured some wonderful footage, that people can catch up on at a later time. I'm not fussed as to how often we get videos, I'd rather you did it when you had time to do it. I say that because it has to be enjoyable for you also and not become a chore. Unless of course something happens that just can't wait. We have had some lovely footage of the badgers being cheeky this year, so one thing I would love to see, is maybe once a year a video with all the funny moments, so for example the cow invasion, or the badger going to war on the camera. You could show this video at either Christmas time or on the 1st April to tie in with April Fools Day. Also in English a male deer is called a Stag and a female deer is called a doe. The word doe is pronounced in the same way you say dough, as in pastry dough or play dough. It might also help to think of Homer Simpson and him saying "d'oh". But for now, a lovely first video, keep up the good work!

Lovely video, a female deer is called a doe in the UK. Don't know if anyone else has put that it the comments, if they have, just ignore me. Nice to see so many jays, never seen that many before where I live. We do have foxes and badgers, we have a young cub at the moment, but we have been told we can't feed the birds or foxes and badgers. Very upset at this. I don't feed them every night, as I think they have to learn how to find their own food, and not become dependent on us.

Your efforts are absolutely top of the class!! I don't know how close to a badger you've ever gotten (physically) and honestly,, you've come much closer to these exceptional animals than I ever will but if I may further explain; of all the animals that I've ever seen, the badger has the most softest fur of all. Compared to other rodents, the badgers fur is almost as soft as the rabbit. Surprisingly so, especially how violent the badger can be...the badger 🦡 has super soft fur.
