Still imagining how roti keramat taste like...watching your video also making me proud of Alex, whom is non Malay but able to share deep knowledge of Malay culture. So unique.
Legend says that there was a monster living in Lake Kenyir, something like Nessie in Loch Ness. Two people died there in the early 2000s, said to be caused by the monster. No one knows the truth, but in any case, it hasn't been spotted in a long time. The theory is however, that someone released their pet arapaima fish in the lake, and it grew very huge since it was at the top of the food chain in the lake. I've always wondered if it was true. Seeing your video reminded me of this story 😄
To tell you the truth, I've seen something that I'm still trying to figure out since it didn't look like a Arapaima. But it bump my 12ft boat and was far larger.. at least two or three times the size of the boat back in December 2013. It made me speed to the nearest island then camp there until the next day. I don't mind of what other people think of my story.
Walking in the jungle , walking in the jungle.....We are not afraid , we are not afraid..... For me , as long there're waterfall and boat ride... I'm game.... Wait.... Roti Keramat...... Again ??? LOL Stay safe, happy exploring...

Amazing! This video is short & compact, full of solid, historical, interesting info. I am impressed! I look forward to more stuff like this Joao & Cristiano, you've really put in a lot of effort in making it exciting to us viewers! I've always wondered about the batu bersurat which we learn from history books but here the writings look so clear! The medicinal herbs are nice too, although only a few were shown. That's another topic altogether I suppose. Wish you had stayed at the boat house though. Aaahhh...more roti keramat & gigantic is a blessing for Cristiana, lucky you. Why not show a cooking video of Cristiana making her favourite roti keramat? Some day perhaps.
I thought that Bakun is the largest man made lake in SEA, the Bakun Dam size is said the size of Singapore, however the history of this dam is full of controversies..
You guys keep on adding things to my bucket list! Now i must go and try that Roti Binjai/Keramat Legend and visit the historical site there 😄😄😄 love you both and stay safe!
