Wisconsin and Minnesota hold more than 75% of the world's breeding population of Golden-winged Warblers. This bird is a truly tropical bird, spending more than half of each year in the rainforests of Central America. Each year in May, the Golden-winged Warbler returns to its temperate breeding grounds near the Great Lakes. Join Brian Collins in a little adventure, trying to photograph these beautiful birds in a variety of habitats in some rich and wild country in Northwest Wisconsin.

Thanks, Anna! If you ever need to share the GWWA and the northwest sands with students, please let me know! I have been working on some wolf stuff there lately too, but that will be on the back burner for the June field season. I think your name comes up in my classroom on a weekly basis as I share influences and stories with students--forever grateful for you!

We have a nice managed barrens & sphagnum bog area here in Centre County, PA. Not as abundant as where you are but a decent breeding population. We get lots of hybrid Brewster's and Lawrence's though. Do you get many of those there?

In northern Polk County, Wisconsin we do get a fair number of Brewster's. I have seen three in the last decade.
