Wisconsin and Minnesota hold more than 75% of the world's breeding population of Golden-winged Warblers. This bird is a truly tropical bird, spending more than half of each year in the rainforests of Central America. Each year in May, the Golden-winged Warbler returns to its temperate breeding grounds near the Great Lakes.
