It's time once again for another Wildwood Construction Update. Back in January we recorded a video showcasing all the projects taking place through-out the entire island!

This video was filmed roughly a week ago but with the conflict in Ukraine we were unable to edit/upload content.It’s been 5 weeks since our last update and this time we included a ton of new projects that you may not have known about. (Plus have a bag of popcorn ready to go because this will be a long one!
For this video we are starting in North Wildwood and will head to Diamond Beach

Love all your videos Used to love wildwood & all they welcome in the city. BUT now hate coming to town with all the nasty roads. They destroy our car, let alone to say what they do to our bodies. Bounce our guts out. All the money the city makes, I just understand why the let their roads go to the dogs ☹

Great job Joey, as always. The Icona's disrespect for its neighbors is writ large in its plans for the OH, aka The Bridge Too Far...and WC board approving it, if I got you right, doesn't bode well for saving the Oceanview lobby. The Admiral's owner claiming energy efficiency with tiny windows? He probably got a good price on them rather than upgrading to a larger and equally efficient window.

In about 10 yrs any motels that aren't converted to condos will be taken over by Icona.

I know you have an update on the Regal Plaza being rebranded after a quick facelift to the Mahalo Diamond Beach. My guess is that the Ocean Holiday/Mahalo is too near (maybe 1.5 miles north), too much work needed, and too small for that concept. Maybe another concept or a sale. Icona seems to have a bottomless pit of cash.

Should really be called Mahalo in the Crest but I guess when you have the $$ the Icona franchise has you can also rezone areas as well.

Do a Wildwood DEstruction update and go over all the treasures we've lost over the years. There seems to be more of that in wildwood than CONstruction. Give us a rundown on motels torn down or de-themed and the iconic amusements that were rashly deemed too expensive to repair or keep alive, e.g. golden nugget, wipeout. This can be a series like what Defunctland is doing. You've done a few of these types of videos in the past and were excellent but haven't yet done one on the truly disheartening and disturbing removals.

Thanks Joey for all the great info you provide us. Every time that I hear of yet another Wildwood condo its just another nail in Wildwood coffin. Love the drone shots. Nice they saved the old Shamrock. Heard stories that back in the late 60's they sold 5 or 7 beers for a dollar. Often wondered if building fire codes are stricter when housing units are built above clubs or a bar.For safety of the teenagers who might live there in the summer hope they are fully sprinkler and quality fire alarm system.

Love the video WVA number one fan here I live down here you know I cannot wait until memorial day when the rides and water park and Ed’s Funcade and toys and collectibles Open up I know this is early but on memorial I think you should do an all day Vlog video of you going to the beach water park rides arcade and more and I was wondering in your next video is it possible I could get a shout out

Hi we have been coming down for 20 years and we've stated a lot of different of the hotels we really like the adventurer but they are not giving any package deals can you suggest any hotels that are on the beach that are good to stay at thank you

The Regal Plaza was where my family would stay going back to the mid 70s. Its unfortunate the motel was sold as next summer it would have celebrated its 50th yr. Its also sad Jamaica Me Hungry is gone. From what I understood they wanted to make the restaurant a bar but since the crest is dry it will be a very big lobby. I hope you show this motel the respect it deserves Joey when you post a full video. I know alot of the motel's history.

Wildwood is ruined it’s no longer a beach town,(not my fathers wildwood) shame this shore town sold out to commercialism! Most people viewing this have no idea what wildwood was, this includes you (Joey) you seem very excited for the new additions so therefore you’re lacking in nostalgia,long gone are the majority of mom and pop motels! But hey let’s hear it for the high rise hotels, and let’s not forget about that new bar, just what we need another one……… this isn’t wildwood , I tell my children what it used to be even show some videos and I think they long for that and I feel bad for them .

Me "lacking in nostalgia" haha not too at all. I do a ton in the Wildwoods to preserve our history (on top of the history videos I do on here and the preservation of Wildwood 8mm, Super8mm and 16mm films)
