Very cool deck! I like the reanimating aspect and still staying ‘zombie tribal.’ I’ll give this one a try. One suggestion, replace 2 or 3 of the swamps with the snow-covered swamp to help with Field of the Dead. If you think it is worth it, add a snow-covered island too.
Have that same grave crawler in my deck, awesome artwork on that card! Great video man. I ended up swapping wilhelt for the scarab god, removed the self mill and focused token generation. My play group absolutely hates it.
In my wilhelt deck I found more than 1 reanimate spell to be too clunky. With only 4 entomb effects (entomb, vile entomber, unmarked grave and buried alive) in your deck you're going to be stuck with multiple reanimate spell and no targets in graveyard a lot of the time. To solve this issue I cut down to just 1 reanimate and cut buried alive as well. Our decks are very similar, I run less reanimate package for a few more combo pieces (mikeaus the unhallowed, pitiless plunderer, diregraf captain, vengeful dead) in addition to pyre of heroes and moonsilver key as pseudo tutors. The deck has changed a bit since the video but I agree that does sometimes happen, however it's less often and since the deck is now less tribal and more combo based I need many reanimation spells to reanimate two targets, either Rot Hulk, or Phyrexian Delver to retrieve Sidisi and tutor for my pieces. If you look at the list in the description you'll see the changes. The goal is to tutor as much as possible now.
Surprised not to see Acererak for use with Rooftop Storm. Sure, you could deck yourself if it's late enough in the game, but I'd say it's generally more likely you'll have enough deck to kill the table.
Get rid of all the self mill and just focus token generation and zombie lords. I swapped wilhelt for the scarab god and my play group almost refuses to play against it. Even with on par commanders like a full tilt toxrill.
@DaGuuch I like to swap between wilhelt and sg every so often. I think overall I like wilhelt m. He's better with reanimation, I have a card that let's ke create 2/2 black zombies from any zombie permanent on the battlefield. so when I get board wiped, double tokens lol
Bro not coming at you, loved the in-depth guide and I learned a ton! Also learned you might be dyslexic-- the names are right in front of you and you say the name of the card wrong pretty often.... Assuming you actually paid for these cards I would think you know what the name of an $80 card is. Just slow down when you're saying the card's title and you're golden. A golden zombie of course. Appreciate the comment! English isn't my first language. That could be it as well haha. The reason I read them so fast is because I like going VERY in depth and if I don't the video will be over an hour long easy.
Don't get foils, take out the fast mana and expensive lands, remove the free counterspells and you can have a deck JUST like this. It might not be as optimized but it should still be consistent and do the same thing.
Replace the tutors for Prolific Tutor and Diabolic Tutor, maybe even a Scheming Symmetry. Take out the $300 Gilded Drake for whatever you want maybe another counter spell!
