Great arrangement by Mrs H. You know it's nice to go back and use 'simple' items. It reminds us the journey we have taken, from using simple razors, cheaper soaps ad such. That rings us to where we are today. Great video as usual Paul. One of the most respected shaving YT's out there.
Excellent start to this windy but now dry morning. There is not really a soap or cream I have that I dislike for smell...only one which was that Spanish stuff I sent you. No Yorkshire puddings Paul?
She wasn't watching..she was checking to make sure you gave her credit for her floral efforts...lol...good shave Paul...that's almost as mild as a cartridge razor....
good basic shave just started using the willkison sawrd classic and arko and great results for price got 3 classics sent to me in australia from my mum in uk will be keeping one for my son when he is ready to start shaveing he only 9 months so bit of time hahah happy shaveing
Wilkinson Sword Classic is a great razor, perfect for PIF's or in my case converting my dad from a 5/6 bladed disposable to a DE. tell MrsH im so their, just have to get my ticket booked and she will have to keep it warm as its a long way from BUNDABERG (yeah where the good rum comes from)...
+PaulHFilms what another great video Sir. Used the ARKO shave soap this morning myself. It is such a great soap, easily affordble and it always gives such a great shave. The wind noise during the shave was incredible, hope there's no damage or such things. I came accross an Australian ade shave cream called Red Desert and when I used it, the strong citrus aromas made me think of Mr. H and his love of all things citrus. It's an amazing a excellent cream. I'd like to send you some and then have you do a Aussie shave LOL!
Arko shave stick is my favorite so far. Unparalleled protection and enough slickness for comfortable shaves regardless of the blade. I am wondering if there is anything that others have used that is considered at least equal to Arko that has a more appealing fragrance . The closest things I've tried so far , I believe to be are Cella, or C. O. Bigelow (Proraso) . Thoughts?
wonderful rich reds today from Mrs H my sotd Michells wool fat such a rich lather, brush omega 10065 yellow handle, Schick injector Bakelite handle, old spice finished with arko extra sensitive, lovely shave am like you Paul i like the smell of the arko shaving stick also the derby and i apply direct to the face. i think that's what started me off as a face lather'er great vid as always mate cacha later
Great shave Paul as usual. Flowers Lovely MrsH..Too. Watched this one on a full stomach LOL. Arko was the second Soap I tried after TOBS Sandalwood Cream and remains a Firm Favourite ever since. NO yo don,t go on after a shave we all enjoy listening to you Matey. See you Midweek, Chris..!!
I just can't help but smile and want to go shave when watching your videos. You truly enjoy what you do and what every product has to give. Fantastic videos Paul! PS: That Wilkinson Razor.. has sort of a "sexy" look to it I must say, might buy one myself.
Nice shave Paul. The reason you waffle I think is because u don't want the shave to finish, neither do we....your personality is the main reason we watch. Feel free to tell us a quick story about what you got up to between shaves. Big fan of the roses Mrs H!! Till the Wednesday shave. Dan.
I find watching your videos relaxing too :) I like long shaves but many times I dont have that much time, and I noticed I spend quite a few minutes cleaning my razors after the shave. So I was looking for a cheap razor where I wouldn't feel bad letting the soapy gunk sitting on the chrome, and I was also watching your very first video and then I looked up steve faragher also. And you both were talking about the Yuma, but it seems it's not so easy to get one now. But then I remembered the wilkinson classic, 10 euro on ebay, but 3.45 in germany in the shop. So I've asked my german relatives this for christmas.
Nice video Paul. As all of yours are. Lately I have been using the Wilkinson Sword Classic as well. And find it a very easy to use efficiënt razor despite it's mildness. All the best to you and miss H.
I actually didn't mind the classic so much...I liked it more than the DE89 that's to be sure. Good shave Paul as always - you are the champion of the wet shaving ritual ! Preach brother! A shave doesn't need to be a battle of nerves against a "man eater" razor every day (fun though that can be)...it can be very relaxing and pedestrian as well.
Nice shave Paul to a great floral backdrop from MrsH :) Arko is STILL on my list of things to buy, trying to get everything ready after the house move seems to be taking up most of my spare time :'(
Hello Paul! Thank you very much for the video, really enjoyable! Thumbs up for the flowers! Hope the dinner was as mouth-watering as it sounded! Keep it up and stay healthy in this weather! Best from Germany!
Ms. H más it easy for Mr. H with the red roses so he would not get confused. I love simple shaves likes this. arko and wilkinson sword classic are the best bang for your buck. great shaves as always. also boar brushes are awesome abd cheap. thanks paul! arko rocks!
I've had some simple shaves lately and its been pretty awesome. Even the Weishi has given me some fantastic shaves and its nothing special. Technique and practice has improved my shaves more then anything.
Beautiful roses, brightens the morning. Great shave, and have to take a rain check on lunch, lol. Have a great week Paul & like you & others totally agree it's the simple philosophy. I am blessed enough to be in a position to have higher end soaps and other things, but still like the basics some days!
A good basic shave Paul, the flowers A1 again Mrs H should give flower arranging classes she could make a fortune. I have been told by Connaught Shaving that the Personna reds have been repackaged, they are the platinum chrome that you just used that's what they said mate who knows. Anyway you and Lowri enjoy your lunch and have a great afternoon. John
Paul - two videos that I'd like to see your production team produce (if you already haven't): 1) How to prepare a shaving brush for the first use. Some recommend disinfecting with boiling water and shampoo and others with just hot water and dishwashing detergent for 5 to 10 minutes. This thread mentions a 50% solution of water & Listerine: forum.shavemyface.com/viewtopic.php?t=35880 2) Another would provide instructions for the use of a shaving scuttle (if you have one) to keep your lather and brush warm in between passes. Right now I can't decide between buying a scuttle or just a cheap large bowl or plastic bucket filled with hot water to hold my smaller lather bowl and brush in between passes. Hopefully you can get your writers and researchers on this tout de suite!
Great Shave Paul ! And lovely Flowers , Beautiful Roses and arrangement as Always ! I bet Mrs H has a Flower Shop , too much talent ! Seriously ! Received my Simpson Classic CL2 , about to give it a go , TOBS Sandalwood Soap (never tried it in soap) . Love the videos ! Thank you So Much ! You taught an old dog a trick or two ! I've advised newbies to watch , sent your vids , they're Great !Your a good teacher ! Patient and Kind , very well explained , comforting . Have a Blessed Day !
Always nice to mix up one's shave for it makes it more pleasurable. It's much like food and your favorite meal. If you ate it every day it would soon become boring. We humans are a strange lot. Always enjoy you "going on" at the end, and the Sunday meal. Well done on the flowers Mrs. H.!, you've outdone yourself again! Take care, Ossie
I love your passion for the wet shaving techniques, and you have a new subscriber. I am new to wet shaving, but it had turned shaving from an awful chore into an absolute joy. Thank you for your great videos!
Just a question Paul: is it really worth risking irritation and razor burn just to save a little bit of soap? I'm sure you're not running low on Arko soap, so why risk it? Regards, Kenny
+Kenny Ingram Nobody should risk anything, I always say to use soap rather than do as I do with water, it is not to save soap (even though it does obviously)...it is a personal choice, I can with certain soaps/creams just add water and run a pass or pick-ups....which just shows hopefully the slickness of that particular soap, and how it remains on the skin after the razor has passed over it....thanks Kenny...Paul.
These are great razors. Never mind the cheap and plastic aspect, they are well made and designed. Bought one the other day online for £4.49, in a bubble pack with 5 Wilkinson sword blades. If you take away the cost of the blades (£2.29) the razor cost only £2.20! Excellent value!! BTW Paul, Boots (a chemist chain here in the UK,)sell the "Israeli" blades for £2.49 for ten under their own brand "Boots Max Extra", great value again, and a fine match for the Wilkinson classic razor.
