good job bro, i have a 1984 that i cant keep running. does turnover when i use starter fluid. but no sound from fuel pump (just a ticking) .connected battery to fuel pump, finally got fuel to the reel yesterday. any thoughts? thx
1.And check your fuses! On my 83, the previous owner had every single fuse wrong, and fuel pump had no fuse in, 2. and also buy a new fuel pump/dme relay 3. If you have tach bounce, your reference sensors are good, but if you dont , replace those two as well, 4. Check for any kill switches in the engine bay, i had one installed by the previous owner, was very hidden, my car would start right up after i did all that, also, its best to replace the fuel pressure regulator, and get a whole new fuel line to prevent a fire in the engine bay
I agree with Erick's steps. If you had old gas, everything could be clogged. Once you have the ignition on, crack the fuel rail to see if you have fuel to it. (have a friend help you, you dont want fuel to spray everywhere, and cause a fire) If it is getting to the rail, and it fires on starting fluid, then you either have to check your injectors.
Do the clips at the top of the injector clip to the actual rail as well as the injectors? I can’t figure this part out after attempting to install new injectors
Hey when you re installed the injectors, did they go in easier than it was removing them? And where did you buy your kit? Especially for $6 ?! Must be lying because i bought the same ones you got (gb) and it was like 16$ with shipping lol
