The paywall wouldn’t bother me as much if the pricing made sense. One bundle today that’s worth $30 is about the same price as the ENTIRE Black Ops 2 season pass (16 multiplayer maps, gun camos, calling cards, zombie maps, etc.) I can justify $5, maybe $10 but no more than that
So like a Tranzit/Town situation, I get that. But even with maps with no Easter egg like Kino, it’s fun to play as Richthofen and the gang but they aren’t necessarily crucial for that experience (excluding the storyline for why they are there). But I do understand, it just requires an operator worth playing as and I haven’t seen that.
I wouldn’t mind the skins if they could be earned or cheaper. Not saying the supply drop system is good but at least they were cheaper and could be earned
I doubt that they'd record Voicelines for every Operator for Zombies, so I'm guessing they just wanted an excuse to have silent protagonists in that Mode
Never thought about that, though they did just use Warzone quotes since Cold War. I don’t think these new guys will be silent which is nice but because the past zombies games are all connected, no one on earth is going to understand the story
Multiplayer maps as zombies maps it the most laziest way to make a map its unbearable. I loved exploring and memorizing a completely new map. It was ok in the past because of the hardware limitations but now there is zero excuses not to make a new map, 4 years and this game is still just a copy and paste of MW2019
Exactly, you lose golden age maps like Origins and Shadows to maps like fire base Z. This makes the maps less iconic and less memorable, slowly killing the zombies mode as a whole.
Then how come Shadows of evil isn’t a multiplayer map. What about IX? Possibly Zombies in Spaceland? 3 different games, 3 different maps, none of them multiplayer based maps.
I don’t have high hopes. I’m not buying it, unless SBMM gets brought down a lot or removed. I remember playing CoD BO3 from around 2015-2017. Best CoD years for me, especially for that game itself.
Same here. Something about dumb fun is nice, not this hypo-realistic shooter all the time. It's fun to play on occasion but most people would want to play a game like Black Ops 3 over Modern Warfare 3 (2023 for clarification)
Exactly, I don’t know why corporations don’t understand that originality works better than imitation. The amount of battle royals that were made because of Fortnite is crazy. Now the skins in CoD are too. Eventually you’ll play in third person and modify your car at this rate
It's not going to be. It breaks my heart to turn my back on the series, but time and time again we've been proven that this new direction Call of Duty is going in, it's just not good. They're bringing back Woods and Adler to try to bait people who liked those characters to buy the game. At the time of writing this, I haven't made it to the zombies section, but the multiplayer is going to be ass too, probably. They're going to butcher it with microtransactions and all these goofy ass bundles that's appealing to people who don't want to wear the default skin, and they're probably going to have nuketown to again, try to use nostalgia against their OG's. God, it might be worse than vanguard. Oh, and I think they'll probably have warzone in this game too.
You’re absolutely right. They’re trying to hook people back with nostalgia instead of trying to make something original. When games like advanced warfare released, people shat in the game for what it was but looking back at it at least they were trying something new. I wouldn’t have bought the game if it wasn’t my pure hope that they make it good. At the same time, a part of me hopes it is bad so that Activision takes a hint so that actual fun games are released.
@@TheNickelsGaming IIRC, Advanced Warfare was the second game set in a much more technologically advanced world, following Black Ops II. After Black Ops II, they did Ghosts, which had slightly more advanced tech, but it wasn't advanced as the following 3 games released. So here's the games they released from BO2 to BO4. Black Ops II, Ghosts, Advanced Warfare, Black Ops III, Infinite Warfare, Cod WWII, Black Ops IIII. Over the course of nearly six years, Call of Duty released Five games(including Black Ops 4, excluding Ghosts)set in a futuristic setting, then tried to "Return to it's roots" by doing World War II. And you know what they release the year after WWII? Fucking Black Ops IIII. Since after BO2, Activision just started going with what brought in the most money, and it's just fucking sad.
Which is why when Infinite Warfare released people were sick of it, and it’s the same thing they are doing now with modern military games. When modern warfare 2019 released, people were excited for it because it was different than the other games that they were releasing. Now it’s just the same old same old with nothing really new. With that being said, if anyone can make a game good, it should be treyarch. And if it isn’t then Activision has to change up the recipe so that the game isn’t a bland nothing of a game.
Selling a video game off nostalgia isn’t terrible. I hope mason and Reznov are alive. I hope nuketown isn’t the only classic map returning. And micro transactions are nothing. You can choose to buy them or not. I don’t see how that affects anything. You don’t need to pay money to win.
@@lucio989 selling a game off of nostalgia is kind of scummy, considering that most of the time when using this strategy Activision won't put in a lot of real effort into the game, since the entire point of using nostalgia is to just bait people into playing the game. Call of Duty is just a cash grab nowadays, and imo, Black Ops should be over by now.
No it wont be. Ive said this so many times and me and my boys are done with this series. Treyarch can make the best MP ever, but it wont fucking matter because the SBMM will still be turned up to a million and still be miserable to play on a day to day basis. Ill maybe pick it up months down the line when it goes on sale, if the zombies turns out to be good.
Honestly a very valid opinion. I’ve just been wanting a good COD for years that I am cautiously anxious for it. If Activision could see the success of XDefiant that has a competitive mode with skill based matchmaking and the casual, regular mode, they could possibly learn, but it doesn’t look like that will happen
