Regarding FSU leaving the conference, the theory is that FSU and Clemson can officially submit their intent to leave the conference before Cal, Stanford and SMU are official members of the ACC and that will trigger the ESPN composition clause due to the number of teams. The case does not have to be finalized. Also, the ACC's lawyers stated in FL court that FSU can leave at any time if they pay the exit fee but their media rights will remain with the ACC until the case is resolved. The ACC conference exit fee is $140 million. The total cost that gets referenced of approximately $500M includes the exit fee and grant of rights.

Theoretically, it’s possible for FSU & Clemson to keep their 2024 schedule even if they leave before the end of June. HOWEVER, that would leave all their ACC opponents on this year’s schedule with too many non-conference games. That could work if they go Independent for 2024 AND the ACC allows the exception for this year. However, they really couldn’t join another conference at this point because they wouldn’t have any/enough in-conference games on their schedule with their new conference.

Kenton: a negotiation and a court case happening on parallel tracks is fairly customary...sure one may feed into the other as leverage. There are no guarantees in either scenario. The ACC gets an agreement for them to stay past Feb. 2025 to get an extension from Espn which certainly won't be there if they have announced their intention before then.

As a B1G observer, how is FSU and Clemson leaving by June 30th when every other team has their schedule set? Why would any reputable P4 team play a road game in Doak or Death Valley that's not previously scheduled? They're going to play a majority of road games and lose on the TV and home game revenue? They can leave, but they're forfeiting the 2024 season simply due to impatience. I need an FSU fan to explain that part of the June 30th plot.

It’s crazy how national media and these like paid analyst that make these videos can’t explain it. The June 30 thing and again I only learned about this over the weekend so I don’t know what’s really true about it. Basically, ESPN has a clause in their contract with the ACC. That clause states if the ACC ever goes under 14 active members ESPN can terminate the grant of rights and their broadcasting agreement with the ACC. On July 1 SMU Cal and Stanford will officially join the ACC putting the member total at 17. If FSU and Clemson leave the ACC and buyout out of the ACC contract(not the GOR but the actually ACC membership), which is just the 120/130 million. ESPN would most likely terminate the ACC after the 2024/2025 season. Giving the freedom to join another confrence. The problem with it and the reason Clemson/fsu are suing the ACC is because ACC is claiming they hold FSU and clemsons rights even if there is no espn contract. Which FSU/Clemson are fighting the ACC because the GOR list espn as the broadcasting partner 10 times and FSU/Clemson were under the impression that ACC only has their rights because ESPN wanted it that way for the ACC network and if espn pulled the ACC deal then they would get their rights back. So the whole fight is if ESPN is out of the way and the ESPN/ACC contract is null/void does FSU/Clemson get their rights back or does ACC retain them. Nothing is happening in 24’. From people I know inside the situation my grandpas best friends a huge donor. It’s like a 10-15% chance they are out for the 25’ season, 20-40% chance by the 26’ season, 50-75% chance by 27’ and 100% they are out by 28’ season. That is info straight from you one of the Top 10 highest boosters at fsu. There is a bunch of other stuff they’re arguing like is this like an antitrust law matter, is the contract even valid, how much to buy back the rights. If espn terminates the deal in 27’ (which is an option ACC did not disclose to their members),how much is the actual dollar amount to get the rights back, and all this other stuff but that’s kind of the moral of the story.

The quicker is done the faster both parties can move on with their lives. The two things we no for sure. 1: FSU is leaving. 2: FSU is no paying $700 million to leave. I'm looking at $150 million. The rumor 7 teams keave: ACC walks with $1 billion plus.

Even if fsu and acc weren't already in court if they said they were leaving they would have to go to court to get a settlement regardless. So it wouldn't change anything in the courts because that case is about the gor exit fee. So it'd the amount would still have to be settled on

Brohm's overall body of work speaks for itself. Dave Doeran has earned his ranking getting more from less. I know it huets Alex but Mario came to Miami 67-67 and he's now 79-80 and just may be the absolute worst game coach in CFB. As for Lashley he's already earning his HC chops.

That college football addiction is clickbait heaven. He blends legitimate scenarios with pie in sky scenarios that he knows will never happen. Every 2 weeks he has his typical ACC is doomed/collapsing. He throws everything out there. He knows chaos can help FSU and pushes that. I liked his initial videos, but then he turned into the West Virginia RU-vidr (may he RIP) that just reports everything that falls on his lap. Usually that gathers clicks, which is ultimately what he cares about.

Guys.. is the ultimatum of FSU/Clemson leaving by June 30th that hard to understand? FSU and Clemson could leave TODAY and all they for sure would have to pay is the exit fee of $130M-$140M. No one disputes that figure. They could leave, be independent until the court case gets resolved. Negotiations are all about who has the leverage. FSU and Clemson are just trying to exercise the leverage they have which is, if they leave prior to July, ESPN could immediately exercise the right to end the media rights deal which would cause the ACC to renegotiate a tv deal without their top 2 TV properties in the conference. Now, the ACC would argue that they still own FSU/Clemson rights until 2036 regardless of if they are in the conference but FSU/Clemson are arguing that the GoR does not state that rights are owned by ACC after a school leaves a conference.

Really? Have you ever been an Athletic Director, responsible for scheduling 18 different sports teams. So you think that you could sign contracts for full schedules in all 18 sports within 6 weeks time? What you are suggesting would be giving 18 different sports the death penalty. Are FSU fans so spitefully stupid that they would actually cut off their entire head to spite their face? I know that this is really a difficult concept for you, but if you actually had experience running an athletic program, you would understand just how idiotic your suggestion is.
