I’m just now seeing this Video and I feel a lot better about the choice I’m making going into cybersecurity. Thank you and good luck to everyone that’s in the comments.
The way that I like to view AI is like Tars in the movie interstellar. He was a member of the crew but only as an assistant, he could pilot the ship and do data collection but at the end of the day the one in charge of piloting was cooper the protagonist. AI will not be able to replace most human jobs but it will make them evolve and make some we have now less in demand. Depending on the rate that we’re moving if quantum computers are achieved within our lifetimes and AGI then there will be endless possibilities for things we can’t even fathom in cybersecurity.
it should be the one that you LOVE. I tried to summarise the reality of difference cyber specialisations here, have a look: Cyber Security Specialisations ru-vid.com/group/PLdI5VHN89i7XgaT-dWsthpAKOmjAF3gCR
Never say not in your lifetime. We don't even know how fast this will progress honestly with automation and what breakthroughs will happen with just Chat GPT 5 alone.
broad speculation without any context, knowledge or understanding are easy to throw around. I’ve discussed this in detail in this video: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-5sCrHjDMsiU.html
I have two questions on the subject: 1- In 10 years, can AIs replace or take over many vacancies in cybersecurity? 2- Do you think doing comptia+, NDE, DFE, cloud+ would already be enough certifications to enter the market as a junior? what salary to expect?
Hey Wyllow, AI will affect all jobs not just cyber security, no point obsessing about it. We still need a lot of human element in cyber you dont need to do all those compTIA certs, follow this plan instead: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-ug_ruisDUXc.html
Awesome video! I have been working as Student in the field of cybersecurity, and want to set foot especially in offensive Security. However I also have a huge interest in AI. Do you have any recommendations for someone like me, who wants to set foot in Offensive Security for AI? I feel like the market is not there yet and will come in the next years. I thought about working in cybersecurity trying to focus in offensive security, and do my masters in AI & Cybersecurity
I would say learn offensive security first, become a master at that, then your skills will be transferrable to AI. Follow this plan: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-8K7iAJ9BNl0.htmlsi=fJz5FxQJisn7edyT
It’s excellent pathway with amazing growth, can move to consulting or senior management. This is a video that talks about it: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-isL1voYydl4.html
@@UnixGuy hey bro i am currently pursuing btech in CS and I am interested for cybersecurity how can I start my journey i only know Java and a bit of DSA.
@@brajeshmohanty2558 you can start by doing some certifications if you have the time! Try cloud certs or security+ , watch this: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Uv4AHFu-uR0.html
Do you mean as a degree? Compiter engineering is a generic degree while cyber security is more specialised. I would personally choose cyber security but that’s my area of interest, both degrees have excellent prospects
I am in my 3rd year doing Computer Science engineering with specialization in ai and ml. I have slowly realised that machine learning and ai is not for me. Can I still get a job in cybersecurity after college? Or will they have a problem that I did ai and ml as a specialization?
hey yes absolutely! I recommend you start doing certs now, start with the ones i recommend in this video: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-DRJic8vCodE.html
Currently I'm working as ios developer,is it good idea to switch cyber security, though I'm having programming knowledge is cyber security is to learn, can you clear me in this
yes, either get into AppSec: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE--oGxe4CW_Z8.html or follow this roadmap: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-ug_ruisDUXc.html
Why you want to leave IOS developer? I was thinking about that field? Sorry about the question, I thought iOS was in demand!! I appreciate a reply. Thanks!
@@Factrythm best for what? those are all different terminologies. Cyber security have a lot of opportunities for career progression. the other two you mentioned are good if you want to work in academia or research
cyber security or AI (data science or cloud generative ai etc) my age is 34 and i am little bit confused . pls guide as per my age . as per my knowledge there are lots of work on data science through online platforms but i did not see any online works on cyber security field
you need to look at the subjects within your degree in your univerisity, I cant answer that for you. But a data science degree has nothing to do with cyber security
Hello sir I have a question I am right now doing my MCA admissions now I got two options to select 1. Storage and cloud technology integrated with certification in CompTia cloud+ 2.Artificial intelligence and machine learning Can you please help me in deciding!?
Not all but many cybersec jobs will be gone. Reading logs, creating incidents (SIEM like work), correlation, red & blue teaming (BAS tools), auditing (qualys/drata) etc. So beware when you work in Cybersecurity, you should be doing intelligent work and not backoffice kind of things.
I wouldn't risk such a categorical opinion even in jest. Perhaps the answer, I think, is yes, to some extent, with more effect in some areas than others. Let's not forget that simply the automation of many processes has meant that many potential positions are no longer filled: EDR, SIEM, Vulnerable Code Analyzers, intelligent sandboxes, WAF/NGFWs, Scanners, automatic Pentesters, offensive process frameworks, and a host of other tools already do tasks that presumably used to be done by people (only that they have gone parallel to the advance of the technology itself and have not really disrupted an already established market, but one that was growing with the advances in automation itself). Artificial intelligence ALREADY does guided pentests, already correlates in detection in a much more advanced way attacks of all kinds, etc. Why should this evolution stop? Perhaps the question is, which areas are less exposed to AI?
@@UnixGuy a bit touchy about criticism anyway I think. And don't bother to read if you don't want to (that was not a messsage for you only). Have a nice day
I see your points, I made that video before the whole ChatGPT and yes Will affect cyber security jobs. But, I’ve yet to see AI do a fully fledged pentest or hold an entire SOC ( not saying this wont happen in the future though. No one knows what will happen, but it will affect society as a whole not just cyber if thats any consolation
bro am doing mechanical engineering 4th year right now I decided to switch my carrier into IT Domin Should I do cyber security or go head towards programing language like( java , python) Can u plz suggest iam totally confused
@@UnixGuy sir im a 12th science student i need a proper career guidance Im confused medical or computer One thing Which job is more demanding in the future and job that never replaced by ai please replay🥹
Hello! I'm stuck in choosing between Cyber Security and data science for masters in Australia. What would you recommend? Which field is more in demand?
Hello Am From India ur Subscriber ! who is stuck in choosing a career in learning course having zero knowledge in programming so what should I choose .Aws Devops or Cyber security or anything else From . graduation Bachelor of Commerce and COMPUTERS plz reply me
I am highly interested in cyber security. Now i am studying computer science (11th) and I am highly confused should I dive into the field Cyber security or not because of AI. Now I can go to Medical Field also after 12th but because I have keen interest in problem solving, I want to choose cyber security but still I am confused because its the decision of my future 😢😢
