You guys do realize every time Dewalt wins on speed 3 people say its unfair because its not on speed 2 like the other tools in tests? That is the benefit of have this Dewalt hammer drill. With the logic of having the same RPM's means I should never use turbo mode on the Flex since it increases Flex's RPM's and it would make it unfair to the other tool. But I will be using the turbo function on the flex in these videos. Don't Like it? Deal with it
@ckcuev
@ckcuev 3 года назад
speed 3 on the dewalt is just like turbo mode on the flex. turbo mode is essentially a speed 3. so do a comparison speed 3 vs turbo mode and then a comparison speed 2 dewalt vs speed 2 flex without turbo mode
@ToolHombre
@ToolHombre 3 года назад
Whatever speed DeWalt is faster with is the speed that should be used in that test. Why would you drop DeWalt to speed 1 if it can do it faster than FLEX in speed 2? Why would you drop FLEX to speed 1 when it would still be slower than DeWalt? It's not 'apples to oranges'. 3 speeds is an Advantage. Advantage DeWalt.
@TheVdog12
@TheVdog12 3 года назад
@@ckcuev no it's not, speed 2 on flex and milwaukee is 2000 rpms. Speed 3 on the DeWalt is 2000 rpms. The flex max speed is 2500 in turbo. Turbo is not designed to spin a big bit that fast. I don't know if this guy can read but if he did he would see that the bit he's using is designed for 1500 rpm and it's recommend from the manufacturer to not use it at 2500 rpm.
@TheVdog12
@TheVdog12 3 года назад
@@ToolHombre speed 3 is not an advantage. speed 1 and 3 is the same as 1 and 2 on the milwaukee. Speed 2 on the dewalt is a middle gear ironically designed for applications like a big speedbor bit. What this comparison would be like is running a ¾ masonry bit and using the flex on turbo, it would have an extra 500 rpm and smoke the other 2. Turbo was not made for applications that most people would do on a low gear. Turbo was made for increased productivity with small drilling driving tasks.
@TheVdog12
@TheVdog12 3 года назад
The true issue here is people come to you for accurate information to understand how to spend their money and good entertainment. I love watching people drill holes and drive screws as much as the next guy, but you don't need to do any more work than look at the side of your tool to see that you can get every tool to operate at 2k rpms. This isn't rocket science there is an apples to apples comparison to be had. There's no reason to load up bigger batteries and give the dewalt and milwaukee an advantage. We can see the performance results from other channels we know the flex is faster. If there's some high demand situation where the dewalt will win in exceptional circumstances oh well who cares. I don't own any of these drills and don't care who wins I do care when someone confidently lies to thousands of people and then pretends his audience is too dumb to understand how rpms on a drill work. I promise you could have shown everyone that all these drills were operating at 2k rpms and you wouldn't have heard a peep about it being unfair.

Thanks MCT! 👏🏻 It is really true that machines often vary their response in power due to various factors, it was something that I have been learning over my more than 30 years of professional experience using various brands of professional tool manufacturers. I did not like the offensive way that Flex presented itself with this new version of 24v tools, I like the lines and characteristics of the tools, but I do not believe that they are as fantastic as announced in the great official presentation of the brand. But thankfully we have people like you MCT to answer any questions! Everyone be well. A big hug, and good work! Helder da Silva

If Flex had just came out and showed how the tools performed instead of trying to dismantle Milwaukee in their Flexommercial, I would have thousands of dollars of flex tools in my shop. Leave the head to head to social media testing like this. The Flexommercial definitely pushed me away from their products, not because it was against Milwaukee, it was because they were putting down every proven tool company out there and being arrogant about it.

I bought my Milwaukee knowing that the dewalt power detect, and most likely the flex volt were more powerful. It’s not always about power, in fact, it usually isn’t about power entirely, but a good amount of power, longevity and customer support. The fact that FLEX made literally everything they did based entirely on power and speed shows me that they are more interested in sensationalism, rather than actual consumer experience.

Greetings from Romania. Congratulations on your video. I have been watching several videos about this FLEX brand for some time. I think they chose a very bad promotion. You can't take a milwaukee to paint it and make it a competitor. From there I think and so much hatred from many even from me can say. I have owned a milwaukee m18 2804-20 bought from acmetools for a week and I am extremely satisfied. I had to choose between dewalt and milwaukee and I went to milwaukee due to the much smaller size being much more compact. But as a power I would always choose dewalt. I think batteries make a big difference. I recommend a battery adapter so you can try to flex with the dewalt battery or vice versa. I think he would be very interested. Probably flex is pretty good but that's what USERS can say after several years of use. THE MANUFACTURER DOES NOT DECIDE THAT HIS TOOL IS THE BEST. If he buys everything he produces, he can say what he wants. It was normal for me to call any competitor with the best tool and see the difference. You're better ... Take off your hat. Why didn't they take another brand as good or more together? They probably didn't have enough paint :)). Man was a shitty promotion ..... It's not like that. Hats off to those who did FLEX but it's not promoted like that. Greetings from Romania, I love America with everything that is there.

I enjoy seeing honest results even if I sometimes have to feel disappointed because I spent $100 - 300 on the wrong power tool. When it comes to power tools I simply want a tool that will do the job it advertised it can do. I don't really care about it being the fastest or most powerful, though it's nice when the tool I bought is. I'm not 100% loyal to anyone brand, though I do tend to have more DeWalt tools than I have Makita. I should add; my tools get used to fix stuff around the house, so I tend to buy what's on sale, when I'm about to start a DIY project that requires a tool I don't happen to own.

I think dewalt should have renamed the speed identifier. Instead of speeds 1,2 and 3. Should read High,Mid,Low gear. The DCD998 at speed 3 is 2000rpm. Milwaukee at speed 2 is 2000 rpm. In my opinion speed 2 on the dewalt should be ignored as its is only rotating at around 1200-1700 rpm giving the dewalt more torque because of the lower gear ratio.

You do realize every time Dewalt wins on speed 3 people say its unfair because its not on speed 2 like the other tools in tests? so there is no reason why Dewalt shouldn't be on the same speed as the other drills for this tests.
