Girl Meets World isn't even around anymore. It's all about enjoying what was entertaining in the past while you still can. It's amazing that William Daniels is still alive with us today to be around for the Feeny call. Don't lose sight of that.
@@Ghost-jy9hk he goes over this in the 1st episode of the podcast in much better detail, but here is the short version: Will Friedle made the Feeny call iconic. It was his bit. When Girl Meets World happened, the creators asked the young cast to do it, and they just kind of copied one of his versions of it, and he wasn't happy about it. So he talked to the creator about it. Friedle got this idea from another he actor he inherited a role from, to give it to the next generation. He and the creator decided to do a "passing of the tourch" ceremony at one of the tapings where he bequeathed the Feeny Call to the girls on GMW, and he won't do it because it isn't his anymore.
The Feeny call has been my ringtone for years! 🥹🥹 And I don't ever plan on changing it. I even set it as my alarm and I think of the episode where Eric calls for Feeny at night and he comes out in a rush in his pj's and robe and his hair all messy. 🤣🤣 It's exactly how I feel when my alarm goes off. 😅😅
This may be an unpopular opinion but gmw sucked to me. Probably because it was on Disney channel that they ruined a lot of the characters I like and the lead wasn’t a character I liked or related to.
@@BenB21 it was one of the highest rated shows on Disney Channel the issue is they end shows at season 3 because they don’t want to go into adult material or subjects, Michael Jacobs and April Kelly were really tied to what they could and couldn’t do by Disney.
I know everyone has such a personal opinion that the Feeny Call is Will's to do only, but he actually has a valid reason for giving it up beyond just "giving it to the girls of Girl Meets World." He stated on Pod Meets World podcast that he was hurt when the Feeny Call was done on GMW without his permission since he came up with it, and after talking it over with Michael Jacobs, he decided to retire it and pass it on to the girls, because that's what his mentor did with him. He vowed to never do it again publicly, until this event anyway.
He might as well just take it back. Sabrina and Rowen don't care, and they aren't ever gonna do it. They don't seem to associate themselves with GMW, plus they didn't do it right on the show anyway.
So like...since retiring the Feeny call to the girls, have they ever actually done it once outside of the show? I'm not up on social media and I don't really follow actors, so I'm genuinely curious if they've ever actually done it or care at all. Either way, Will should've treated Bill to a proper 96th birthday Feeny call! Why they can't they ALL have the Feeny call? It doesn't have to just be Will's, but its a shame that a catchphrase can have so much drama surrounding it...
Lol when he said he gave it to the girls everyone collectively just went oh 😒. 😂 they know that show will never be superior to boy meets world especially since Disney ruined it
It made absolutely NO sense for the girls to do the Feeny call. This was 100% an Eric/Will thing, it’s sad that they took it away from him to the point where he doesn’t want to do it anymore.
It was ok but Disney neutered it, if put on ABC like the original it would have been better but Disney Channel has so many rules plus they cancel the shows at season 3 to avoid adult topics.
Wish I covered them and could have stuck around for the panels, I only read through a short list of who was all going to be there and didn't see that the cast was there until I saw all their booths.
It's about time dude cuz for the longest time you said ever sent Girl Meets World came onto the scene you had you didn't want to say The Feeny Call because you said it was theirs now, but now that the show is over it's finally yours again so go all out and say it loud brother😁
Am i the only one in the minority that the feeny call is funny but not because of the iconic one that the girls in gmw replicated. I prefer the other ones much better, my personal favorites being the one where eric is picking out colleges and the "dont act like you dont know me" feeny call. Edit: I also love the plays with squirrels feeny.
He just doesn't want to do it and to move on. I get it, but you also can't just ignore the past and the good things that got you to where you are. Embrace it, my dude!
I don’t mind that he gave it away. I like the idea of the next generation taking over. I just don’t think the girls care about it. Not even a little bit.
There’s a reason why though. You might know that Will does a lot of voiceover/animation work. I forget the exact circumstance, but a fellow voice actor was leaving a show they were working on, and he apparently had a catchphrase. Will was apparently going to take over voicing the character or something like that. The actor did the catchphrase one last time and announced that he had officially turned it over to Will. Will was very touched by the gesture and wants to uphold the tradition by giving the Feeny call to Rowan and Sabrina. Personally, I want him to keep doing it forever as he originated it and clearly does it the best. But I respect his stance.
Too many mix feelings about the feeny call. Hate it, don't like it, it was fun on the show in the 90s, he can do the feeny call at anytime he likes but doesn't really want to, which is fine, and idk, the one word feeny was for a the audience from William bday wish, so take it or leave it, and well, I hate teases.. ggrrr. Whatever. Also, yeah, in years, like when, in gmw? According to will, he did the call one last time, on set but not in the show. So if you had tickets during gmw run, which was what 2014-2016?, Then you probably would of heard it one last time. But hey, he broke the rules, bday or not, will broke his own rules, now every fan that wants to hear the call must hear it.
